I have a ton of cast iron. I bake all my fruit pies, meat pies, roasts, casseroles, pizza,stromboli in them. For browning there is nothing better, I never made a cookie in them but NOW I will. Thanks Diana. I have a sister Diana. She's a goddess you know lol

It's a cookie! It's a pie! It's delicious! Cool. It looks great. I love that you show how simple it is to make food yourself instead of from a mix. Seriously, that's like 40 seconds more than opening a packet and adding whatever but it won't be full of chemicals and sodium and it has real butter! Good stuff. As always, your videos are clear, concise and easy to follow.

thizizliz I totally agree about the chemicals....I find myself making more things from scratch.

This was so much fun to make with my grandchildren. Actually, I set out all the ingredients in their measurements and let my granddaughter and grandson add them while we watched your video. (I had to add a little baking time; my oven may just be a little different.) We brought it out to share with their parents and there was only one little piece left. LOL! Thank you for a recipe that is a keeper & that kids would enjoy helping to make!

Can you think about doing a video about cleaning and seasoning a cast iron skillet. I enjoy your video's. You might laugh, but I am easing into cooking again..Hubby and I went out to eat most meals after all the kids left home, and after 5 years, I feel like I am learning to cook all over again. I always saved my iron skillets, but they have been collecting dust for 8 years or more lol.

Made this tonight without the M&Ms as I did not have any at hand, turned out great! Only thing is I had to add about half a cup more flour to get the dough to be the consistency yours was. Now *that* is a cookie! I can see me sliding it out onto a plate and eating the whole thing. And I'm gonna tell the cardiologist that it was your fault! Cast iron - Amen! My oldest I bought when I was in college. It's 50 years old, so "country" that it doesn't even have a brand name, and just nicely broken in. I remember getting it at a little country store in the back mountains of Virginia. The rest of mine are all by Lodge, and made in the US of A. I'm not at all impressed with the Chinese spinoffs, and tend to push American made, especially with something as traditionally American as cast iron. And even Walmart carries them. Yes! Walmart carrying something made in the USA??? LOL!
@DianaDeLaFuente9 жыл бұрын
Anonymoose's Corner I dont know where I got mine ...they are USA made. The lodge brand is great, they gotten so expensive

Kind of goofy? If you sift the dry ingredients. Will they be more poofy or less? I always wanted to know but never did try. Cast iron makes the best homemade corn bread or just Jiffy. I am going to have corn bread now thanks a lot.lol
@navparadise9 жыл бұрын
sifting incorporates more air into the flour and prevents it from knocking air out of things like meringue but for something like this cookie dough, i dont think it'd make that much of a difference
@jeffxl129 жыл бұрын
navisthedarklord I made that stuff before. Don't care for it. Now seeing it written out. I can see my question was stupid. lol thanks
