Beth is that woman who had everything figured out! She creates gorgeous gardens, renovates exquisite homes, runs a household, is a mom and businesswoman. Her recipes have an astonishingly beautiful presentation WOW factor but use affordable ingredients and her techniques are well thought out and foolproof. She is like a mix of Ina Garten, Martha Stewart, and the Enegizer Bunny. In the same way Beth coached people through the stressful and intimidating process of planning a four course Thanksgiving dinner with her game plans, I need Beth to coach me through and plan my 401k for my retirement, I need her to organize my doctor's visits, and I need her to fix my credit!!!
@EntertainingWithBeth3 жыл бұрын
LOL! Your comment just made me laugh out loud! You're hilarious! OK for your other needs: 1.) 401K, always give the max if you can, you'll love the tax break and 20 years from now you'll be so happy you did! 2.) Dr. Visits, make all your apts the month of your Birthday each year, all of them! That way you'll never forget to make them! 3.) Re: Credit. Don't have more Credit cards than you need. Always pay on time, in full if you can, and don't fall for any of those dept store cards to save 10% on purchase, it's a trap! Oh and always make sure you can pay your rent with 1 week's paycheck. This was the best advice I was given and kept me from spending above my means for everything else :) which always helps with credit Happiest of Holidays!! And thanks for the giggle!

We finally made this, and it was DELICIOUS!! I used oil instead of cooking spray, and tried to take it out of the pan too soon, and disaster struck. My kids don’t care, they love it just the same, and I do too. It’s really rich and chocolaty, just incredible. It reminds me of the deep chocolate flavor of a really good brownie, but in a lovely, moist, soft, not dense but but not too light cake. I’ll buy some cooking spray and try again, mmm!
@EntertainingWithBeth3 жыл бұрын
LOL! Oh no Veronika! But I had to laugh because I know what you mean, the cake is so good that you really don't care if it crumbles LOL! But YES baking spray will fix you right up! Spray it well and then use a pastry brush to distribute it well into all the nooks and crannies, but so glad you enjoyed it! And yes it is like a lighter brownie ha! Great analogy! :)

Hi Beth, I came out of hospital day before Christmas Eve, we were spending Christmas alone, no cake or dessert left in house, one husband with sad face, saw your recipe and whipped it up as a Christmas Day cake/dessert. I was worried about the taste as I only had olive oil on hand, but there was no need to worry. My husband and I both said Wow! It was moist and delicious and extra delicious with the cherries and ice cream. One question why use Baking Soda not Baking Powder? I used Baking Powder and it turned out fine as that was all I had in the cupboard. My next recipe to try will be your indulgent monkey bread. Every recipe Of yours that I have tried has turned out to become firm favorites of ours. Happy New Year to you and Yours.

Oh sure! Depending upon what the capacity is of that pan, you might want to cut this recipe in half. This recipe is a 9-cup capacity batter. So just fill up your pan with a few measuring cups of water to see how much it holds :) Then dump the water out into a thirsty plant :) Hope you enjoy!

Hi Beth, Can the AP Flour be substituted with GF 1to1 Flour?
@EntertainingWithBeth3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I havent tried it but if you have had other success with cakes making that sub then yes but you may want to pick a pan that is not as intricate since without gluten it nay not mold as well without the elasticity of the ap flour👍

Beth this looks amazing!! Can u please suggest how i can follow this recipe without eggs? What should i use as a substitute? Happy Holidays 😃
@EntertainingWithBeth3 жыл бұрын
Well you could use unsweetened applesauce. 1/4 cup for each egg. I wouldn't worry about the egg yolks. Just use 3/4 cup of applesauce instead :) And maybe a bundt pan that doesn't have a lot of detail in it, since without the eggs I'm afraid it may not be as elastic to hold an intricate shape, but it would still taste really good! Maybe a loaf pan would be best :) Hope you enjoy!

Sure you can use the Dutch process BUT swap the baking soda in this recipe for baking powder. So beautiful. I would add that you should be sure to use BAKING spray and not cooking spray on the pan and the cake will come out perfectly. I know the recipe calls for it but I just wanted to emphasize the importance of it.
