A few years ago, I wanted a Rocket, test rode one, loved it, but it was quickly sold. Got a 2009 Thunderbird, what an amazing bike. Had i in for a service and was given a SpeedMaster, great bike, and if I hadn't had a Thunderbird would have been very impressed. Nice bikes, and as always Triumph Quality.

Triumph are knocking it out of the park with great designs, excellent handling dynamics, superb build quality with high quality components. They are reliable bikes nowadays Harley Davidson needs to look at what Triumph has done as HD bikes just can't compete with the quality and reliability of Triumph at sensible prices. The latest generation of triumphs are in a different league from before.
@MotoChooch6 жыл бұрын
daniel thompson I will say the new Fat Boy I rode was really nice but not 21k nice. Maybe half that. Biggest problem I see now with Harley is their pricing. Way out of the ballpark of what you actually get
@danielthompson8036 жыл бұрын
@@MotoChooch I agree just too expensive for what you get. I think the new designs for 2020 are interesting, I just hope the quality and price are right.

I just want to start by saying I really find your reviews and channel to be excellent and I enjoy every one! This bike I like a lot, love the mussel lines to it, however the the chain drive is a deal breaker for me. All my bikes have been shaft or belt for the last 25 years, chain maintenance is a PIA and I refuse to do it. I don’t know why Triumph didn’t use a belt. Also the price of the bike is quite steep. I looked at one in a dealer with the brown seat, pipes and a wind shield and it was over 17 grand! So I bought an Indian scout, and ever looked back. Thanks for your great channel.
@MotoChooch4 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the kind words thank you! Yes I agree working with a chain is a bit annoying but it's the price to pay for the rest of the bike that uses it IMO. Honestly, I dread the clean and lube until I do it but then there is something so very satisfying about it when it's all nice and clean :)

Great video. I have a 2009 Kawasaki 900 Custom that I really like, but I’ve been thinking about a speedmaster for a while. My only concern is my height at 6-2 and fitting the bike. Love forward controls. Thanks again fr the video.

I'm not a huge fan of forward controls, in fact, it's one of the reasons why I gave this one a pass. But apparently you can have mid controls from the T120 installed which might be just about right.

How is the ride quality and the output performance? The looks and the overall stature doesn't seem to be as appalling as the previous Speed masters in the past years. The handle bar looks ordinary and tasteless for one thing, and if they did not have a tachometer before then maybe they should have it now! Good thing that they retained that double exhaust placement on both side!
@MotoChooch6 жыл бұрын
Scott Summers if you’re looking for plush you won’t find it here. Rough roads won’t be this machines strong point. I am in Texas though and most of the roads in my area are really good. Output is amazing I love the engine! Bars are replaceable.

MC, Nice interview! You are very knowledgable and pleasant to listen to. You need to review the Indian Scout as well. I'm curious what your opinions are regarding the Triumph Speedmaster and the Indian Scout. I'm 6' as well so to me, any bike you review will certainly apply to me. Any news on the horizon about adding a belt or shaft drive? That might be a monumental improvement. FYI, Even Jay Leno has one in his garage and he likes it too! Good job! Keep the reviews coming!

Speedmaster is one of the comfiest motorbikes, like ever. The centre of gravity is low, the bike is very stabile, and the riding position very relaxing; even if you have suffer from some in the back, and struggle with naked bikes or leaning forwards which is required for some cafe racers, the riding position on the Speedmaster relieves the pain.

the scout not in the same league with build quality or components which gives the Triumph much better handling dynamics with a more powerful engine.
@raywite66656 жыл бұрын
I've looked at them closly and the build quality is impressive. I do think Triumph is still producing winners ( but my new Thruxton has moisture in the gauges). I'd choose the Triumph anyday but the Indian is a nice machine.

I paid 12,500 retail including my trade. Traded a 2017 Vctory Octane which is basically an Indian Scout. My octane had 400 miles on it and I wasn't riding it because it lacked comfort. Took one ride on the Triumph, and knew it had the comfort and smooth engine tune that I was wanting. The bike is a tuned, smooth bike in town or on the two lanes.
