Odd perhaps, to comment nearly a year after the video appeared, but bear with me. I bought the speedy blue Bonnie in May. Took me four seconds to fall in love, eight seconds of Saskatchewan wind to realize I needed a flyscreen. That fitted, the bike hasn’t blown me off the back end yet. Hadn’t ridden for forty years, but after 200 miles in rain mode, I’m only mildly terrified of the torque. Really enjoyed your review; your comments were representative of my own experience. Just subscribed. Cheers from the Canadian plains where winter will send Bonnie into heated storage too too soon.

You're welcome to comment anytime! Hello to the Canadian plains...I wish I was going into heated storage - just got very wet and cold riding our mutual friend! That torque...just the best thing in the world!

I traded in my Speed Twin because it was killing my wrists and backside for a Speedmaster exactly the same as youre riding, im quite short in the leg so i had the mid foot controls kit fitted, now i can ride for miles and be comfortable which is what i was looking for, fantastic.

Sometimes, new brakes take a while to get run in. Every bike is different. The Brembos on my H-D Night Rod were very good from the very beginning. New pads and rotors on my Road King, however took several hundred miles before they settled in. By the way. "Throw aroundable"? You're a funny guy. Try flickable next time. Blipping the throttle under a bridge or overpass is a universal thing. We're all just kids on these things. Love the blue.
@fozbox4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha! Well when I speak random stuff just comes out...flickable would probably have been better 😂. The blue is pretty cool but I ended up with black.
@jroberthadden4 жыл бұрын

Beautiful bike! I am seriously considering the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. I am also considering the Harley Davidson Slim and the Fat Bob 114. It’s between these three bikes. I have no idea which I will choose. I love the Speedmaster. It sounds amazing!
@fozbox3 жыл бұрын
You'll probably find the Harleys sound even better but the build quality, customer service and community of Triumph is probably better

Love those triumphs, but I don’t know about the angles of the handlebars seems that after a while your wrist might start bothering you, what do you think?
@fozbox3 жыл бұрын
I thought that would be the case too but weirdly because you’re sitting upright there’s less pressure on your wrists so the ‘odd’ angle is actually fine.

How is the wind feel, at highway speed? Can you comfortable sustain 80 mph on a highway for at least 30 minutes? Or, does the wind jostle you/your helmet around?
@fozbox4 жыл бұрын
Depends if you have a screen. Without a screen you do get pushed back significantly and it gets tiring on your arms and back. Ok for 30mins but more than that would be tough. With a touring screen you get loads of protection - especially if you’re less than 6ft.

How did the bike corner, heard that pegs may scrape tarmac often as ground clearance is low, welcome your opinion on this?
@fozbox5 жыл бұрын
Personally I haven't scraped a peg yet after 400 miles - just depends on how aggressive you are. If you're coming from sportsbikes then you're more likely to scrape as you'll be used to going lower in turns. Biggest issue for turning that I've come across is if you're tall (I'm 6ft3) handlebars can hit your knees in slow tight turns (carparks etc).
@markmottershead6464 жыл бұрын
Smaller roundabouts are a problem with the pegs
@colindebourg90123 жыл бұрын
I havent scraped the pegs even on tight roundabouts, not a problem.

how do you find it lane filtering between cars on dual way roads/hwy at heavy traffic. My concern is that that handle bars maybe are too wide then regular naked bike ones.
@fozbox4 жыл бұрын
Handlebars really aren’t much wider than shoulders because of the way they bend round (in the beach bar configuration). I’ve put a link below for a video I did on filtering which will give you a decent idea - progressively heavy traffic through the vid. Let me know if it helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYqbgaeNrLuKf5Y
