I love in the evening when the girls were just living their lives around you and chatting with cookies and toe nail polish. I love crafting around my kiddos. It's so normal here, that they don't even think of "interrupting" me. I'm crafting almost every evening, so it's just part of their lives. :)

Ali, you have an impressive official project bag collection! I have 6 - 5 of which would be sock size. For larger projects, I have reused a lot of canvas shopping bags. My favorite is a set of reusable shopping bags from Disney World - not with Alice though. I have fabric cut ready to make a dodgy bag once my sewing machine is fixed.

hooray for daily making vlogs! these bring me so much joy. I've had such a busy weekend that I've now got three vlogs to catch up on. The biggest wool show in my area was just on and I absolutely exhausted myself, but it was so worth it. Now my chronic illness is having its revenge and I am giving my poor body a well deserved rest. Luckily I can binge these vlogs to keep me company, which is cheering me up. At the wool show I bought some exciting sock yarn, so I'm looking for to strictly season. I also bought some spinning fiber which is designed to be an eco-freindly sock blend (non-superwash shetland wool and bio-degradeable nylon) I've never spun for socks before so that should be a fun challenge! Have you done any spinning recently Ali? I remember earlier in the year at a wool show you made a pact with a friend that you were both gonna spin each other minis to exchange at another show, which I thought was such a fun idea.

I’m loving these daily making vlogs! Like you, crochet was my first yarny craft and even though I’ve been knitting for about 4 years, I still am more comfortable with crochet. You inspired me to learn to knit - i was fascinated by your socks and your DPNs! I have since made several pairs but have decided that 9” circulars are my favorite method. (I recently heard someone call DPNs “devil sticks” and i have to agree!🤣) One of my future projects was inspired by you - the Waroo Shawl - I have the yarn picked out but need to finish up a few things before I start on it. All the girlie stuff when Dan is away! Happily finishing a blanket today out of my Dandelion and Dogwood yarn from last years advent. Pattern- Trifle wrap ( blanket sized) by Helen Stewart. And it is down to 91* F (32.7 C) at 7:30 in the evening here in Austin, Texas. Not feeling like a walk tonight because I would look like I took a shower on my walk. 😅

I don’t have near as many bags as you but I absolutely try to make my bag coordinate with my project. And then the stitch markers, scissors, tape measure, pencil, notebook, etc. etc. must match as well. Being type A can be tiring sone times. 😊

I got ridiculously excited when I saw my project bag was the thumbnail! I remember waaaaay back when you said you didn’t have minis and folks took pity on your paucity and sent you bundles of happiness. And now you are the “I make blankets and shawls from my minis” woman. I plunged last year and bought my first yarn advent, hooked forever more- I have discovered the joy of making scrappy socks and there is no turning back. I usually catch these vlogs when I am having my, ‘I’m bored now ,I’ll go and have a cuppa and knit sesh at 3:00 am.’ Time to go back to bed…

I have enjoyed a bonus weather day temperatures in low 80’s or 27-28C. Sat outside several hours working on a vest the pattern is from Workbasket magazine July 1979. My grandmother wrote on the front of the magazine “nice one” and on pattern page she wrote “ my favorite “ so I feel like I have to knit it. She died in 1998 and I have not made anything from these magazines till know, long overdue! Great seeing your videos

I love watching other people crochet and enjoy seeing their particular style. I'm always amazed at how economical of movement some can be whereas my style is like a whole arm workout! Consequently I prefer a crochet hook with quite a long shank. I've tried some hooks with handles but find my "flow" is interrupted when the yarn hits the handle. Not sure if that makes sense. I was wondering if you have a favourite hook or use a variety depending on mood, project or what you have to hand?

Really enjoying the vlogs. Son and I made cookies at the weekend, we made 20! Had to bring some in for my work friend and her family. I'm currently hectically trying to knit a unicorn for my son's friend at school, she turned 5 today and is having a party tomorrow. All the knitting is done but it needs stuffing, sewing up and a tassel mane. Tassels are not my favourite. Hoping she likes it, I've knit it with sparkly yarn, kids like shiny things right? 😅

The chickens are looking great! The poor things are getting some lovely feathers. And they seem to settle in nicely. Just a question, don't you get cramped fingers when you crochet and hold your finger up for tension?
