Regarding the rainbow socks type situation: If someone wants to be a hater, they'll find something to hate you for. If not your clothes, then your skin, your voice, the size of your butt, the shape of your nose, whatever. You can't worry about haters or you'll go nuts. They are the weird ones if they get in your business!

If I'm remember correctly, it was post WW II when the whole pink and blue thing was swapped. You are correct.....prior to that the color pink was more associated with boys, blue with girls. I can't say to blame the boomers because it was their parent's generation that started it and they were the first generation to be subjected to it.

I just turned 64 on October 13 and i don't own anything gay. No rainbows, no gay socks and no pink or purple shirts. I do have pink and purple flowers in my garden and one of my bedrooms in my house has purple carpets and lavender curtains. 😊

It is too bad you have to celebrate your sexuality because it is a small and very private part of your life as there are so many things to deal with in life. Haters are going to hate and will find something to hate eventually. Maybe hate me and I am not gay. But, without invading the privacy of sexuality, gays and straights have a lot in common. I guess I dont understand what you are saying and frankly I dont think I want to. If you cut me off on the beltway....I am going to be pissed. There is a pretty shop at the beach that sells rainbow stuff for the garden. It sets off the garden quite nicely.
