There's a lot of oppressed people in this world. We suffer a lot, homosexuality being illegal in some very backward countries. I experienced homophobia I just tell em to duck off and grow up. A lot of research has shown most homophobes are just ultra closeted not very surprising at all❤

@@SashaRicky I've always been an outsider being merciless bullied and beaten at, being laughed at because I didn't want to play to football . Ive developed a lot of kinship and empathy with minorities who are perscuted. The school story ends with me being so fed up of being treated this way. I absolutely kicked the school bullies ass, I mean I really did. No one touched me after that. The motto of the story is stand up for yourself, even if means a fight. ❤️love to all❤️

Hell yes! Being gay IS awesome! Given the number of artists, filmmakers, composers, architects, choreographers, dancers, and singers there have been throughout the centuries, can you imagine how bleak and dismal this world would be without their influence? Being gay allows us to see the world through a different and (I believe) far more creative lens. It gives us more of an appreciation for beauty in all its forms and allows us to express our creativity and our own beauty (both inner and outer) in a way that heterosexuals often cannot. Furthermore, for those of us who are out and proud, have been for more than half of our lives, and came out at a time when even showing a gay character on television or in a movie was still largely considered taboo and unacceptable (except for the occasional incidence when said character was presented as a stereotype used only for comic relief), I believe we also have developed a greater sense of personal courage than those whose sexuality was always seen by society as being "normal" and/or "legitimate" from birth.

Some Italian Americans will call Spaghetti sauce - gravy and I found that strange but I later found out that it means (at least to some of them at least) Tomato Sauce that has meat in it as opposed to sauce with out meat in it - which they don’t refer to it as gravy.

I get on with my parents but my best friend is definitely my chosen family and so are her kids etc. I would say that about a lot of my close friends except I've left a lot of them behind because our lives grew us apart, but I considered them family... And some still do.

I didn’t see you guys asking for voice notes on this topic because I’m usually mostly on KZbin and sometimes Twitter just to keep up with a few of my favorite music artists. But I think my favorite part about being queer is hanging out with all my other friends and being able to be completely myself When I’m just hanging out with them. It’s not that my family doesn’t except me, but I think they just don’t understand my orientation being asexual and pan romantic. Both of those orientations are such small minorities and comprise a smaller percentage of the LGBTQ community as a whole. I just feel like when I’m just with my queer friends, I can say certain things like using certain phrases or words that me and my friends use all the time, but that we might have to explain to other people who wouldn’t understand it because they’re not in the community. My brother understands and it’s not really like I’m hiding it from anybody, but I just don’t really talk about it because I don’t really have a need to I guess And also sometimes I don’t even understand it myself. I can tell that I feel more able to do and say certain things when I’m hanging out with them then maybe I would when I’m with my family. But this podcast has also been one of my favorite things about being queer. I feel like there’s such a good community here and It’s nice to be able to have a place where I feel like I can relate to people about similar things that I’ve gone through having to do with being queer and share my experiences here. Thank you guys for being such great role models to so many people and for being so relatable too. ❤🏳️‍🌈❇️💜💓🌈❤

I think this is probably the first time I have ever commented on any of your videos, I usually enjoy them, but do sometimes take personal issue with some of what you come out with 😉 - but that’s normal as it would be a boring old world if we (gay/lesbian or otherwise) always agreed with each other. Your (specially Keegan’s , but sometimes Joel’s) snide pro-Labour/anti-Conservative jibes just float over me, as I have grown used for 30/40 years to hearing similar prejudice/bigotry from mostly left of centre gay/lesbian people. For the record I’m right of centre, always have been since my early adulthood - anyway, the political pendulum has now swung left for a few years, I’ll just have to try my best to insulate myself from the missteps Labour always make 😉. Also, I spent my career as a banker (commercial and private), and the organisation I worked for (I’m now retired) had/has a pretty evenhanded attitude towards gay/lesbian people, certainly during my career from the 70s to the 90s, what mattered/matters was being competent professionally. I’ve now been married to my husband for more than 8 years, since pretty soon after same-sex marriage was legalised in the UK (& specifically in Scotland where we are), he happens to be mainland Chinese. I try not to make glib assumptions about anything or anybody (probably because my family bought me up to be open-minded & that I had a gay uncle who lived with his partner from the mid-50s to early-80s, when the first of the two died) in London, both with successful careers, and my own parents, including my father, liked them both, and they stayed at our home annually for brief vacations, and shared a bed in one of our bedrooms, growing up this was always perfectly normal for me, although it was just not talked about much, but not regarded in our family as a particular secret. Maybe I have just led a relatively charmed life. Anyway, good luck with your interesting takes on issues relating to the LGBT communities - they’re certainly not boring.

Joel, I have redefined family. I have my family of origin, the family I grew up in. But I have found or chosen family also. I get support in these communities that I don't get from my blood family. I get stuff from my blood family that I don't get from my chosen communities. It's not either/or for me, it's both/and. Just my opinion.

I can understand not using ketchup etc....but what do you call the sauce that’s red and made of tomato 🍅 and is put on pasta because it’s common in the states to call that tomato sauce?
