I been in her shoes, strung out on heroin, using practically any drug I could get my hands on to combat the dope sickness... n completely and utterly lost not knowing where I'd lay my head from one night to the next... I didn't just decide to become an addict, it was a result of years of abuse from ppl who I thought loved and cared for me. My parents smoked pot with me at 13 n let me get wasted drunk, an ex "bf" introduced me to all kinds of other drugs.. smoked crack with me on our first date wen I was only 16 n he was 19. I struggled for years until my fiance took me in and really showed genuine love and concern for me... Unlike anyone ever did in my whole life. I pray she finds a way out of her situation because once you're in it, it's so hard to climb out on your own. I'm praying for you Sherry!! 🥰🥰 🙏 You deserve so much more!

I was this girl. The difference between us is that I had people that cared and this lady hasn’t been as fortunate. Research says if people like this are given enough to drastically change their circumstances, ie housing, food, clothing, support that doesn’t end until they’re well, and love.....they will stay clean. She needs medical, dental, and emotional support.

Who’s going to pay for the rehab ? It’s not always that easy... and homeless shelters don’t always have a bed. And when they do , they’re not always supervised properly either - people either get sick ,robbed , beaten , and/or raped in a lot of the shelters so maybe sleeping on a park bench is better than the alternative. And since you must be actively in the shelter before they accept you when a spot opens at the rehab, a lot people wind up never going to rehab...... this is all while keeping in mind they are addicts & powerless over their addiction.

I have had friends I tried to help. Cant help those not willing to actually help themselves and be accepting of some structure and rules. It blew me away at how much thought went into the gifts viewers sent! The Boost was brilliant; it should be sent to the homeless shelters daily. Sunglasses! Who would have thought of that?! So smart! The chapstick- amazing! The money- goes without saying. The Burger King gift card?! So good; you know she's probably famished and needs something quick and filling and hot. I just recently found this channel and have already binge watched about three straight hours of these videos. After watching this one in particular, it restored my faith in humanity. Beautiful souls out there. P.S.- did you all also think it was incredibly cute of Sherri to tell Tom he didn't have to "worry about giving her the $3"?! She's homeless, hungry, an addict and wasn't worried about $3?! How incredibly cute and innocent.

I worked with Addicts & what I know is that 3mths of rehab is not enough , it takes a year for someone to get clean & sober. Then at least three years of intense therapy for PTSD & any other presenting issues.....

So touched by this. I had a family friend on heroin and crack. Both her parents told me she was going to die. She was down to 35 Kg and dropping. Someone ( a much older guy, by 36 years) was trying to control her and got her on the heroin and crack to get her dependent on him. Got her to 6 bags a day before I took her under my wings. Cost me about £2000 and almost a year to get her through it. She was 26 at the time. She is now totally clean now, found a good partner with a good job, that doesn't take any drugs and only drinks at the weekend when he doesn't have to go to work the next day. She got engaged to him and has had her first baby (not by him, but a previous partner who was a total waste of space) and is looking forward to the future with him and the baby. I so admire you for what you do. Total respect!

This came up on the feed. It's amazing how far Sherri has come in a year. Tom you have to know how much difference you have made in all these people's lives. Three quarters of humanity haven't done what you have done. You have a very compassionate heart. You also care for animals. It is a gift. If you are interested,a great book you might like is,"The five people you meet in heaven," by Mitch Albom. It was a bestseller. Anyway,I haven't seen all of your early videos,so I will enjoy looking at them.

I adore that you didn't judge her on what she may or may not spend that money on and for giving her the option to convert it. so many times I hear people say well I'm not going to give a homeless person money cuz they're just going to go buy alcohol, etc. And I just figure hey I don't care what they buy if I was homeless and in their shoes I might want to buy alcohol as well. It's about respecting people not judging them. So bless you sir.
