Garden of Sound

Garden of Sound

Күн бұрын

In my eyes
Indisposed
In disguise as no one knows
Hides the face
Lies the snake
And the sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat
Summer stench
'Neath the black
The sky looks dead
Call my name through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again
Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain?
Black hole sun
Won't you come?
Stuttering
Cold and damp
Steal the warm wind tired friend
Times are gone for honest men
And sometimes
Far too long for snakes
In my shoes
A walking sleep
And my youth I pray to keep
Heaven send hell away
No one sings like you anymore
Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain?
Black hole sun
Won't you come?
(Black hole sun)
Won't you come?
Hang my head
Drown my fear
'Till you all just disappear
Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain?
Black hole sun
Won't you come?
(Black hole sun)
Won't you come?

His music and voice has been haunting me in all of the deepest, most beautiful, and at times, painful ways for the last few weeks, seemingly out of the blue. What a gift and inspiration he was and always will be to this world. A true artist, poet, philosopher, and gentle soul. May you rest in peace, Chris Cornell

For GenX it seems we are at that age when all the voices of our youth are leaving us. Although they are gone their music and the memories they gave us will remain. Chris Cornell: July 20, 1964 - May 18, 2017

Yeah. What the Hell man. 41 years old. I fell like all the guys who carried me through the awkward teen years are gone. This is just depressing. I'm so glad I got to see SG twice in the early 90's, along with just about every other great band from that era. OD'ing on Sound Garden, Temple Of The Dog, and Chis right now. I still have my original CDs from back in the day!

Not sure "OD'ing" is the most appropriate word to use right now.
@NXTMusicianBassist
@NXTMusicianBassist 7 жыл бұрын
Cornell died by hanging, so "OD'ing" isn't too off color. Also, CajunRulez, Cornell was 52, not 41. Unless... were you stating your own age?
@Wavebreakerband
@Wavebreakerband 7 жыл бұрын
Ah, my bad. I hadn't heard yet that he hung himself. I'd only read that his wife suspected that he OD'd.

My bet is he was murdered for uncovering what a pile of shit the Clinton Foundation is. He unfortunately was involved with them (although he had his own charity) and then...well, he was an honest decent guy, probably spoke out. Him and Chester die the same way, I mean come on.

I cannot BELIEVE the incredible cord-progression in this song.. It's one of the few songs who made it to the radio that didn't/doesn't have a standard cord progression (3 or 4 cords) I LOVE it!! Thanks Chris!

The dictionary definition of talent......not many artists can say their music holds up 30 years later and I'm pretty sure Chris' music will never date, much like Nirvana's. Probably the greatest and most emotive voice in rock music history. Even though youre no longer with us, take comfort that you will never be forgotten and you had a profound impact on the entire music industry and millions of people. When your music produces that much raw emotion you're doing something right. Not a bad legacy

This song is still a favorite of mine. It was exactly how I felt about the world in the depth of sorrow. No one expressed it better. Thank you Chris Cornell for your fantastic voice and musical talent that no one can duplicate. He is missed more than he ever knew. The strength Soundgarden gave to youth struggling is beyond what they knew they offered their fans.

I really like the melodic structure of this song, simple but contageous. I find myself sitting down, plugging in and getting lost in this song for a half hour. My wife stood in front of me for 5 minutes last evening while I was playing it and I never knew she was there! Ooops.

lukin manetti a musicvideo really shouldn´t have the power to create hate in anyone´s brain. i for myself like the video, cause i associate it with that great studio version of black hole sun. it´s up to you to let hate be a part of your life. you as well could cut your negative thoughts out and direct your attention to the beauty of the music. remember, your energy always will follow your attention...
