Morrissey has a decent string of songs now and then, but it is ABSOLUTELY not as good as his work with the Smiths. He lost all of the subtlely and wit that made the Smiths so great. Seriously, "How Can Anyone Possibly Know How I Feel?" Utter trash.
@kentvonseverin12575 жыл бұрын
I have given this a lot of thought over many years ( I found The Smiths in 1983 and saw them five times). Tony Willson once said what I had concluded myself: " Marr was able to create emotive melodies that in turn provoked Morrissey to write peerless emensly powerful prose. Their songwriting partnership was far stronger than their sum of their parts". That and Marr, reworking the songs to fit the vocals (Morrissey often disregarded where the vocal, verse or chorus, were to be inside Marr"s arrangement) was able to complete or perfect what would normally be an unfinished song. Morrissey did get close with Viva Hate, that is where the songs end for me for the most part.
