Take a look at the disturbing manifesto for a third-world state the Māori party are working toward, then keep in your mind the fact Hipkins will have to bow to their demands to form a coalition in 2026. Even if he only makes a commitment to the least crazy of their ideas, even those are still extreme by the standards of first-world, democratic societies. I'd much rather have what the left calls the "coalition of chaos" than a coalition of crazies.
