There's already a combat sport at the Olympics that has proven to be impossible to judge unbiased: Boxing. I'm of the opinion the IOC will put anything in the Olympics that will get put asses in seats and make them money, regardless it's worth a damn, so it wouldn't shock me if it ever happens.

The biggest problem in wrestling today is that most wrestlers don't care about protecting the business because they want to post something on Twitter and get attention. We knew in the 90s that these guys are playing characters and these are storylines but the talent still took it seriously at that time. Now, if two guys are supposed to be enemies and they're going to have big match at WM or whatever. They will take pictures together and release them on Twitter like week before they are supposed to have this big match. That would be like Bryan Cranston stopping in the middle of an episode for Breaking Bad, he's like hey guys I'm not really Walter White and this is all fake. It just takes you out of it.

Hogan wasn't a bad wrestler overall. He knew what he could do well and what he couldn't do well, and worked to the former rather than the latter. What changed around Hogan was fans expectations of what a match should look like in the ring. It's a lot like what's happening with the NBA right now with the talk about yesterdays stars, players and game play compared to now. It's definitely true that Hogan's in ring style didn't evolve with the time, but some of that was kind of out of his control.
