Right? The far left nut jobs would've tried so hard to make Simon white just to push their own narrative.

Not really. Simon isn't white, so they wouldn't pounce on him. He too is a ''victim''. They're only interested in dissing white people.

And if I'm not mistaken about the dates, only about two weeks after this incident with Simon and Grier, Berube did the same thing to Worrell and Berube was suspended for 1 game as opposed to Simon's 3 games here. So strange how two Capitals players did the same thing with only two weeks apart.

You only hear one side of the story , what did Mike Grier say to Simon? Mike Grier never mentions that . I’m sure both sides were wrong .
@michaelb4833Ай бұрын
retaliation is a big thing in hockey and in real life. Part of being a pro (or even an adult for that matter) is learning how to not retaliate. Because in the end, nobody actually cares who started what, they see how you react to certain situations. And that can make or break your reputation and credibility
@iramitchell4811Ай бұрын
Like I said what was said ? Mike Grier never mentions what he said , racism is racism regardless of who practices it. I never heard Grier take responsibility for causing a hostile response from Simon. He made racist remark as well, I’ve been watching Hockey for over thirty years , I understand retaliation, it’s easy to make a judgment after the fact. Grier wanted to hurt Simon and he played victim . Both of them should have been suspended, fined and forced to take whatever program required to adjust their attitude. But you’re right Simon lost his cool, Grier played the victim and Simon was made the villain.
@QueensNewYorkguyАй бұрын
Mike Grier would never say anything derogatory to any other player cause for one, he’s the most nicest humble guy! That’s why he got hired by San Jose, he’s got great character and is even a better human! And plus Grier is already at a huge disadvantage himself being one of the very few black guys in the league so why would he be dumb enough to do to someone else what has been done to him by so many others
@QueensNewYorkguyАй бұрын
@@iramitchell4811what are you talking about? You don’t know anything that was said you’re just speculating! Anyone with a brain knows it was Simon who started it and was the only one that used a racial slur!
@iramitchell4811Ай бұрын
@@QueensNewYorkguy Why is it a one sided occurrence? Why would he say something racial to someone when he’s been abused as well , easy , it’s done everyday in society. It takes two to tango , and that Grier maybe a humble guy but he was half of the issue and took a step back and played his humble act. It’s easy to dismiss Simon as a racist and Mike Grier as the victim but it’s much harder to come to terms with that both held hostile opinions of one another and Grier started it. Grier was just being the gentle guy and Simon out of nowhere decided to call him a racial epithet, please . It takes half a brain to believe that and a full 🧠 to examine both side of the issue , it’s was cause and effect and Simon can’t take all the blame.

Every now and then, there is a player that is so classy and such a great example to the kids and others (example to their parents as well), you wish they would never age and stay on your team for 50 years. That is Mike Grier. No , he didn’t light the lamp in the barn every game, but his effort was always present.
@incumbentvinyl92913 ай бұрын
Fringe player to be honest. He rarely brought much to the table, other than eating up some spare minutes so that better players could rest. He was also very soft for a bottom six checked in the era. He did admittedly provide some tertiary scoring in his prime.
