@HatRockАй бұрын
@ruiteixeira1594 that's exactly what Jumbo did to Roglic when they added Jonas to La Vuelta and then they didn't know how to react to the media created Soap Opera about Sepp's momentary leadership. That Vuelta was set for Primoz since 2022 for several reasons, he was working for that and suddenly I don't know what happened inside the team that they decided to change things, maybe they felt that Primoz winning both Giro and Vuelta would take out the spotlight from Jonas TdF wins. It was a stab to Primoz and a very ugly one.

There are so many false claims in this video and this is not a matter of a different opinion - they are factually incorrect. 1. It would be a knucklehead move to talk about any kind of strategy. It's better to hide, always. It's not a matter of "manning up". Belgian team didn't have an option to hide the strategy. But Slovenian team did have, so it's good that they were not talking about it. 2. Mezgec said today before the start of the race that the team has only one captain and that everyone in the team knows it. 3. UAE gave their team bus and half of the staff to Slovenian team. It's obvious that they are not going to do this unless Pogacar is the captain. 4. Pogacar said after the race that Roglic asked him should he go and try to gap to the breakaway group, like Tratnik did. Pogacar said to go, but the other teams didn't let Roglic go and Pogacar used the opportunity to start his own 100km attack. Roglic is not going to be asking Pogacar for green light unless Pogacar was the captain and they discussed these options before. 5. There were no Pogacar / Roglic clans. Tratnik was not asked to wait for Pogacar, they had no radio connection anyway. He was told by the official motorbike guy (the one who was showing the times) that Pogacar was attacking. So Tratnik decided to wait for him. Pogacar was surprised to see him, but of course happy. 6. Roglic did not backstab Kuss. At least not any more than Jonas did. Jonas attacked first, got two wins that he did for his neighbor's dog and I believe for uncle's son's teacher's cat. So bunch of excuses trying to get wins and win the Vuelta. During all this time Roglic stayed next to Kuss. Then, when Roglic says it's my turn, I want to win the climb I circled at the start of the year, the Angliru, Jonas was supposed to return the favor and stay with the race leader. But he is a selfish bastard and didn't want to. So all this non-sense hate is just a lie. Roglic was the strongest rider in the race and didn't win. The rest of the team should thank him.

Sorry ridiculously silly video. Regardless of what Slovenia DS or Tadej or Primoz have in mind why would they share their intentions in a press conference? Personally think pre-race cycling interviews may be the dumbest of any sport when asking riders to reveal their tactics in advance. It's not rocket science: unless Tadej and Primoz end up actively chasing each other down -- perhaps like Boyer and Lemond for US years ago (depends whose story you believe) -- having both going for the win, or at least their competitors thinking that's a possibility, is a plus for Slovenia.

if Roglic is not at 100% he certainly will ride for Pogacar - he has done that for Vingegaard and others before; and then we can expect him give all he has. But if he is at 100% I'm sure he will not sacrifice his own chance, after all it may be his last change to get the jersey! Then I expect him to stay patient (what he has learnt over the years...), and if Pogacar goes he will not be the one to chase him - he rather will follow all the riders from Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, and if they chase down Pogacar he then has a fair chance to beat them in the final, In any case, I expect an exciting race!

Completely delusional rambling...Primož never stabbed Sepp in the back, it was actually Jonas who did that. And why exactly would Primož, Pogi or Slovenian DS reveal their tactics to the press before the race? Primož always gives the same pr non-answer no matter what question they ask him. He's not going to please someone who rants on youtube, to risk the team's tactical options. He will always keep you and other teams guessing. You're overthinking this Slovenia dynamic Chris. Primož is still recovering from riding the Vuelta and knows Pogi has been specifically preparing for this race. The roles have been set, he will help Pogi, but will also gladly take advantage if other teams let him go. There's also another factor in this - the next 3 WC races are all going to be very hilly with big amounts of vertical meters, so plenty of chances for either Pogi or Primož in the next couple of years.

Going down a descent at 90 to a 100 km/h (56 m/h) and misjudging a bend ... The combination Vuelta-Tour or Giro-Tour was possible, and the third big prize to win after that was the World's.... And that is why it is called the triple crown... @@ChrisHornerCycling, not at all. Primož has a very strong base of fans back home in Slovenia, who actually “suggest” Primož not to help (!) Tadej at the WC and to ride for himself. Imagine that? They will back him up and find all sorts of excuses. So no worries there…
@heidewatzkaАй бұрын
Sepp Kuss robbed Roglic and Jonas of winning the Vuelta last year, what are you talking about. Both riders allowed Sepp to be in Red, to give him something back. They allowed him to be in a breakaway early in the vuelta and sobreaking one of the rules, that your number one helper is not allowed to be in a breakaway that early in a race. They allowed him to do so but not to win the race. Thats the difference. I know that hurts your feelings, but you yourself, if it comes to other riders tell us the same thing. And now again, you tell us that Roglic has to work for Tadej...why has Tadej not work for Roglic? Why is Tadej allwowed to attack Roglic, but not the other way arround? Makes no sense!! Btw, Roglic absolutely will Tell Tadej, what he will do in that race. As he told Kuss and also later in the vuelta the reporters. And why isTadej not answering about the tactics? Curios....

Hirschi. I have a small bet on at 22-1. Got to be worth a punt. Primoz and Tadej being on the same team convinced me. They can cancel each other out.

Tadej mindset ----- STAY AT THE FRONT. That strategy alone will separate Pogi from Rogi. Only Tadej will be able to stay up front and throw digs deep into the race. Roglic has 3wks of Vuelta in the legs _ no way will he have snap late in the race.

Scenario 2: Pog has a few more years to win Worlds while Rog options are dwindling. Pog has demonstrated a high level of unselfishness (which one of the many reasons I enjoy watching him). If Rog is strong enough, Pog could attempt to help Rog and try for himself in coming years.

Tomorrow’s forecast for the men’s road race, is cloudy and 58 degrees, with only a 4% chance of rain. The circuit will be dry, but it has a lot of climbing and narrow sections, with tight turns. I think it will come down to not only who’s got the best legs after 270 k, but who is the best bike handler. I know Pidcock isn’t on most people’s short list to win, but I’m starting to believe that he’s got a shot, if he can get away on the final lap. 🦋👊🇨🇭

I can’t argue you with Paul from what we have seen so far from Roglic, he may not be 100%. But Roglic still found a way to in the Vuelta to be good enough. I’m expecting (hoping maybe is better description) that Roglic has enough to entertain us all one way or another on Sunday. I don’t expect Roglic to have his best legs ever though. 🤔🤞🦋👊🏆🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦵

@ChrisHornerCycling What was helpful @ vuelta will not work the same way in a nervous one day all out worlds. I can't see roglic as a contender, but the race could put him into this position anyway. If TP is at the front and Roglic free to only follow the wheels of the chasers. They both are experienced riders and know how to benefit from each other without having to sacrifice their owm chances completely
@daleforbes3322Ай бұрын
You don't need to be on your best form to win the worlds. Alaphilippe won it on multiple occasions and he clearly is not the strongest in the peloton. Kiesenhoffer won the women's Olympic road race in 2021 and she can barely get a place on a trade team. Tactics and nous plays as big a factor as pure strength and Roglic has plenty of both.

Rog likes to play guessing games. Geraint Thomas said Rog commonly says his legs are bad or he's tired and then he's off down the road later that stage. I think Rog rides for Rog and he likes to play mind games. I think Rog and Pog will ride for themselves. I think Pog will go and if Remco can keep up, they'll work together. Pog will likely be off on his todd. I do wonder and hope that Pog comes off this impossible high level next year as we need competition. At least Lance used to only ride June July + Amstel Gold and leave the rest of the season for the plebs :/

Chris, he didn't stab Sepp in La Vuelta🙄, thats like saying he stabbed Ben O'Connor this year! Visma went into that Vuelta with aging Primoz as their #1 rider, looking to win his 4th Vuelta. This year it would have been a record 5th!! Just like Ben OConnor went on a breakaway this year, and won stage 6 by six minutes plus, Sepp did the same thing last year. That case was more clear because Visma sent Kuss to put pressure on Remco and as a satellite for Primoz or Jonas; not to win! The circumstances were the circumstances. If it took Visma a few days to cave under pressure and align ranks, that wasn't Primoz fault. He went there to try to win a 4th. And if the team would have not stopped him, he would have had a record 5th Vuelta at 33/34 years of age this year. Did Lemond stab Hinault?? Did Froome stab Wiggins? Did Thomas stab Froome? Did Bernal Stab Thomas?

Oh my, attacking your team mate must be much worse than I first thought. Chris keeps bringing up the Sepp incident in Spain 23. Remember 2 guys attacked him though and the other one seems to have been forgotten about. In hindsight it looks like Roglic had made his mind up to leave Visma by that point and he was just being impetuous. Why would Pogi race in the worlds and not Spain to complete the real trio in the same season? He looked untouchable in Italy and France. My take is Tadej made a deal with Primoz so he missed Spain, which gifts it to Rogla, and gets help in Sunday’s race from him.

All things even I'd be very surprised if Roglic beats Pogacar unless as you said Roglic is in the break but then I'd be surprised if Roglic can get in the break without Pogacar and would the other teams allow the likes of Roglic to get into a break?? It was interesting Michael Matthews comments after the teams tt that riding the course at full pace gave you a different perspective of the course .
@tilmania361Ай бұрын
honestly it would be so stupid if roglic and tratnik would sabotage pogacar. i dont think its going to happen really. we have seen remco and wout working together i dont think pogacar and roglic cant do that. and remco and wout also dont seem particularly close, even less so than pog and roglic i would say. speaking of remco hes such a big threat and has a good team, if the slovenians dont cooperate i am not sure if even pog can beat him.
