I hope that the general movie audience will have a greater appreciation for stuff like this, what Transformers One delves into with its lore, story, and characters, instead of just perceiving the Autobots and Decepticons and mindless robots beating the living crap out of each other. Sure there’s nothing objectively wrong with that, but Transformers wouldn’t have lasted for 40 years and more if they were not more than meets the eye.

I would consider Megatron origins as a look at Meg’s early days. But it is like the only other time I can think of where Megatron’s past wasn’t simply treated as a back drop for Optimus’s.

Cybertron is a beautiful living planet, its inwards are constantly transforming just like the transformers making it a shifting landscape. All the Energon comes from Primus spark in the core of the planet. It’s not any world it’s Primus himself transformers to support life.

My better half asked to see this movie today! She likes the Bay movies for the pops n bangs, sure they are good casual viewing. She loves the Bee movie the most, which i also like. She has never seen 1986 and has shown little interest in my vast (tiny) knowledge of the TFU. Her request to see this movie surprised me, but i feel that her conversion is now complete.

Key little detail often missed in tfp at 15:06 "The council was moved by Orions words and appointed him the next prime." Smokescreens first appearance in TFP contradicted that statement. Why? Because he said specifically this when talking to Optimus; "I mean it was Alpha Trion who petitioned Halogen of the High Council to make you a Prime!" Meaning it was set up from the start. Megatron was NEVER getting it anyways.
