I based this video off my blog and also off many things I wanted to talk about that I've been through as well as many of the clients I work with go through. You are not alone, no matter how much it feels like you are! If you want to read the blog, here is the link: battlingtheocddemon.wordpress.com/2017/09/21/i-am-a-victim-of-ocd/ As always, thank you for being here and supporting awareness of Pure OCD!

Chrissie Hodges/Pure OCD Advocate Hey I think I have OCD I was telling my therapist how my thoughts were and she said they were normal cuz everybody has those thoughts but I keep having the same thought over and over I have relationship intrusive thoughts where I constantly feel like I'll cheat I'm my partner I felt that way in the past and I was crying in my room in the door because my mind kept telling me that I'm a cheater and I'm going to cheat and I felt like a horrible spouse 😔 and no I never cheated in that relationship but ever since that relationship I felt the cheating thoughts come over and over and constantly have the thoughts over and over whenever I try to date someone else

Hardest thing for me is justifying whether every thought is mine or whether it’s the illness I sometimes seem to lose my identity constantly but this helps so much thanks for being the voice for souls suffering from this and too scared to even come out and say this

OCD has been so crippling to me since I was a young child. I've had many different types of OCD without realizing what was happening. I used to have terrible intrusive thoughts about killing my family and my pets and stealing things at the store. I was terrified to leave my house and thought I was a monster and that I couldn't control if I stole things or hurt people. It was such a scary time of my life (I was only in elementary school!) I've had compulsions as well which were not as mentally taxing but still such a pain. I haven't told anyone about my OCD and I know I need to seek help but I don't know how to. Your videos help me a lot. I am so grateful. I used to be very religious but my OCD has caused me to lose my faith on multiple occasions which really really makes me sad. I can't believe that I dealt with this for so long and didn't know what it was. I have hours, days, and even weeks of complete bliss and happiness without any OCD thoughts or compulsions and then it's almost like someone flips a switch and I get into these terrible ruts where my mind is just attacking my body and I do not sleep at all and I become a very different person due to my OCD and anxiety where I can't leave the house.

I’m watching your videos because they’re making me calm and your energy is absolutely beautiful! I think I have OCD ...POCD to be exact...but also OCD about taboo things and almost everything triggers an intrusive thought and I just miss the person I was 4 months ago. It sucks and it’s total hell...my anxieties have made me become numb as well so it almost feels like my mind is convincing me that I am that though I know I’m not...i want to take medication. I wish goodness for everyone who deals with this and everyone in general. Much love to you!

Doctor for OCD told me that it's most likely something from your childhood that triggers OCD. Not sure if it's true but if it can help someone out there find out why someone gets it then that's great.

I’m 13 and everything points to OCD, but I’m to scared to tell my parents because what if they think differently of me or what if they think I’m different or even worse they bring me to a therapist and they say I don’t have OCD!! I mean I hate OCD but also it scares me to think that I don’t!! Can someone please help?!?

13 ears old was the epitome of my OCD, I reached puberty by that age and all the themes of sexually repulsive, violent, blasphemous thoughts overwhelmed me, this age literally an age of complete shock, struggle and hitting rock bottoms, so please seek medical help or family support..

Hi Chrissie! i know that you probably won't see this as this video was posted ages ago but I totally relate to what you're saying. I've had intrusive thoughts for 3 months now and it leaves you traumatised. It feels like i've had these thoughts for years - they've calmed down now however - it feels like there are 'remnants' of these thoughts (p intrusive thoughts and trans intrusive thoughts + thoughts related to harm and scrupilosity). I'm scared that these thoughts will come back though as they felt so intense and real.

the awful thing is that, whenever you have a spark of stability and "you are like magically free of ocd and pristine in your core thinking", it is like having a powerful engine which spurts ideas and enjoiment for things, like a ferrari. Most of the time you feel like an old small , not revisioned schrot, with the brakes on and a smoggy polluting engine running in the same time. All the magical thoughts and sparkly emotions for life are drenched in filth.

I did not see all of these posts in real time, however I can tell that you were really struggling. Suicide is very serious and it feels a bit helpless to read these comments knowing I can't do anything to help. I hope that you've been able to get the help you need and get to some treatment that will give you some relief. Please update me that you are okay.

Chrissie Hodges/Pure OCD Advocate Hi Chrissy, yes I am ok. I am with family about to go into private hospital again. You are the only person I have seen in ‘real life’ who is describing my condition moment by moment. I have gone though the whole process of misdiagnosis- the lot. I have no doubt whatsoever that I am experiencing out of control obsessions thoughts. You literally describe back to me my own experience. I am consumed with the very fear you have dealt with- amongst others. I have worked out that it is a anxiety disorder- as I end up in a full blown flight or fight panicked state of dread and terror- for me it seems to concern other people’s perceptions- I fear being seen as something I am not. I am willing to pay to speak with you and will likely arrange to do so soon. It is too important. This condition is completely debilitating and it has been with me- undiagnosed for many many years. I just want to thank you for your work- it is life saving.

Anyone listening......please respond as I’m so confused. I had harm ocd as a child.... it went away around age 23... 27 years later, under intense stress it cane back.... absolutely terrified me and almost destroyed my life. Is it common for ocd to leave and then come back decades later or is it just me???

I have 4 things to say:1-there s a new movie called pure o 2018. 2- what intrusive thought do you get out of the banana behind you?😆. 3- . How does flirting and normal lust interfere with ocd?
@ChrissieHodgesPureOCDAdvocate
@ChrissieHodgesPureOCDAdvocate 7 жыл бұрын
I have heard about that movie! I think it is based on Rose Bretecher in the UK. I hope it does us justice!! hahahahahahh If you only knew how many people comment about the banana! hahah!! Flirting and normal lust absolutely gets mixed up when you are dealing with OCD. How could it not!?!? Your brain is telling you that there could be danger surrounding sexual thoughts so it is really hard to not trust your brain but to know that it doesn't seem right! It isn't uncommon to question everything--even the good stuff :( It is a beast of a damn illness!
