Personally I think the voice works in this interpretation of Batman. I mean the Batman himself in this trilogy is supposed to be a symbol that can be anyone and the voice helps to cement his inhuman identity while providing a level of intimidation and anonymity. And it really helps to add impact to those scenes like Rachel getting gassed or the Joker interrogation when the voice starts breaking and we see the line between Bruce and Batman become increasingly indistinguishable. Just my opinion.

Bruce Wayne vs Ken Wattanabe's false Ras was an incredible fight. As Batman fans, we have to recognize THREE things. 1. This voice is clearly inspired by how it's described in the comics unlike Conroy's or Keaton's. 2. This voice (and the fact it traces its origin in the comics) is one of the things that differentiate Bale from previous Batmen 3. It's just the cool thing to do to hate cultural phenomenons. People watch through, watch it again, knit pick, then convince themselves they should hate it. For a lot of people, the nostalgia factor on 89 Batman is so strong, it doesn't matter what you put in front of them. I have most of the Frank Miller Batmans; plus the Knightfall series, the Killing Joke, and others, and to me, Nolan's trilogy was great representation of Batman and so were the performances of all actors involved.

I dunno man, as much as I enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises, The Dark Knight takes the cake with me. It just felt so perfect. Ledger as the Joker, Bale as Batman, Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face. Nolan's writing and directing were solid as well. The Dark Knight Rises felt more like an epilogue to me. Plus, that little cliffhanger with Blake finding the batcave left me with unanswered questions. Other than that, the film was perfect. Both are, but The Dark Knight is the clear better of the two.

Christian Bale has got to be the WORSE Batman ever. His voice was just too ridiculous and reminded me of a Vampire or Chuck Douglas from The Cable Guy, basically it sounded like a joke and was too angry for Batman. He also had a lisp and every time he 'mysteriously' disappeared, it was verging on a comedy because it happened too often and just looked ridiculous. I also felt he lacked personality and passion as Batman, everything he did just seemed so automatic and robotic, like he was only saving people because it was the thing to do and is what was expected of him but there was no heart there. Oh and his suit was just awful, it made him look really stiff but Heath Ledger as The Joker was probably the best Joker ever or at least a really brilliant take on The Joker. His acting was on a whole other scale compared to most of the people in the movie and he totally out-shined Batman. He was a professional working among people who seemed like a bunch of amateurs at acting and conveying believable emotion.

heath was and will be the best joker ever. btw he did not die on the batman set as some said back then. he died on the set of the "imaginarium of doctor parnassus". which in my eyes is a great movie. heath was the best joker but when u need a great devil you call tom waits.

I’d say the only time it was a hinderance was during the final scene with the Joker. Other than that, he was using it to be intimidating, or to conceal his identity.
