Overview of the Entire Bible in 17 Minutes!

The Bible is comprised of 66 different books written by about 40 authors over a period of about 1,500 years. It has nearly 1,200 chapters and over 30,000 verses. If you were to read a chapter each day, it would take over 3 years to read the entire Bible!
In our newest video release, Christianity Engaged founder, David Erhart, provides an overview of the entire Bible in 17 minutes to help you better understand its story from beginning to end. The video includes a summary of both the Old and New Testaments as well as a short gospel message (the “good news” of Jesus Christ). I haven't studied this but I heard there is a study of the bible called Theomatics that shows how it all fits together mathematically. There are also the Bible Codes that Noone disputes anymore from what I've heard. In those codes in the bible is each of our names w information about us surrounding our names.

It’s hard to understand, even for me for many many years I was confused about parts of the Bible. When I confessed my faith in Jesus and prayed the James 1:5 prayer, immediately it all made sense. I was soon after filled with the Spirit of God, now not only do I understand the Bible, God teaches me daily and reveals his mysteries to me. You too can get a relationship with God through faith in Jesus as Lord and savior and trust in His Work on the Cross.

Read 1 Corinthians chapter 2 . It has the key to understanding the Bible. When you simply trust Christ as your saviour who took your sins upon himself and gave you freely of his righteousness, he will then give you his Holy Spirit to understand the Bible! He is truth! I recommend looking to the public educational work if secular scholars in religious studies, given your interest in religious texts. I'm a secular historian (historical research is totally neutral on religious claims). The biblical texts are one of the primary sources we use in researching ancient history, BUT people often misunderstand they they are literary works that mix mythology, legend, poetry and historical documentation - like most writing in the ancient world. The use of exaggeration in the Old Testament accounts of the history of Israel always amuse me. It's a perfect mirror to the way the Babylonians, Assyrians, Akkadians and Egyptians wrote about historical events. It was obviously for the sake of dramatic storytelling. Enjoy

My Father a Wiccan, my Mother a Catholic, I grew up seeing those boards and my brother playing with it. Now my father is married to a pagan, worshipping some Greek godess. Somehow since a child i chose to be a Christian. I now believe it was the Lord who led me to be a Christian. I believe with no doubt Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for my sins so i may have eternal life but I fall so short each day. I really wish i had somebody to look up to growing up but to this day i have no relationship with any of my family, I have no friends but ill never give up my belief in lord jesus to be a pagan in order for my family to accept me as my god said, stay away from evildoers and idol worshipers. The only thing left out in this otherwise good overview is the judgment to come when Jesus returns, and any mention of Hell. By leaving these two elements out of the story line, it is not fully clear why the Gospel really is "good news". If my illness is terminal (sin), I will not appreciate the cure as much, or take it all that seriously. 🤷

Obviously you are defending the bible because you are a devout Christian. Thats the same as an Arab defending the Quran because he is a devout Muslim. However, if God is real (i.e. if the universe was created and didn’t spring into being out of nothing), then there are facts about Him that are mutually exclusive. All of the religions can’t be true at the same time. It is actually not subjective. I always say that Christianity is not a religion as much as it is about a relationship. Most other religions are about a list of rules that you need to obey in order to “work your way to God.” Christianity is the only religion in which God “worked His way to you” in and through the person of Jesus Christ. So using these three criteria we can observe the following: Talking snakes (Genesis 3) and also talking donkeys (Numbers 22) certainly cannot be verified by any known scientific observation/test using the three criteria i mentioned. The result of this test proves that the garden of eden story is entirely mythological. This same test can be used to debunk any WACKY supernatural claims by ALL other religions like Islam - aswell as Buddhism and Hinduism, Judaism etc. This scientific method rules out any mental and verbal gymnastics used by religious folk to justify any supernatural claims.
