You are such fun to watch! Those marshmallow bits can be bought on Amazon in large bulk bags! Super cheap. FYI, Mace is the outer shell of the Nutmeg nut. It has a lovely citrusy aroma and a different, more mild flavor than nutmeg. it is a standard ingredient in my fruitcake recipe and would not be the same without it.

Exactly. You can use it anywhere nutmeg is called for. Don't expect the same punch, but it is quite lovely in cookies, sprinkled on egg custard, rice pudding, etc.

Spritz Cookies! My mom made these ALL the time when we were kids. They aren't common, but they are SO good! My mom had the hand crank "machine", that came with several metal design plates. She would separate the dough and put in food coloring, which makes the cookies very festive looking. The cookies are just as yummy rolled into little balls. I know, because that is what I did. I hated that cookie machine. Haha. LOVE your vlogs!! Keep on baking! Happy New Year!

Mace is the nutmeg flower so not too far off. 😉 I use it for boiling cauliflower or Brussels sprouts, my dad does not like them from the oven. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My Great Aunt always made rum/whiskey balls every year for Christmas and they are my favorite Christmas dessert! She gave me a book filled with family recipes and that recipe is in there. A good way to chop anything like that is to put your cutting board in a cookie sheet, then no chasing they all stay in the cookie sheet, you only have to get them from there.

This year I made a gingerbread loaf and gingerbread cookies. I personally love brown butter gingerbread cookies that end up being very similar to snickerdoodles. But this year I tried different recipes. Definitely do the brown butter it's great. It also recommended a powdered sugar lemon lemon zest glaze. And I have to say the only thing I liked about those were the lemon glaze. So I wouldn't make the gingerbread again. Maybe next time I'll make the ginger snickerdoodles with the lemon glaze. The lemon glaze is great I recommend the lemon glaze.

I am so appreciative of watching this. After doing tons of holiday cooking and baking, I feel like I'm Mrs. Christmas. So it's great to see someone who I can relate to. Little tip with the spritz cookies, my family uses cold cooking pans and the dough sticks a bit easier. We also use green food coloring for when we use the tree. And when it comes to making a recipe gluten free I have always used a gluten free all purpose flour. Sometimes you do need to use a bit more flour for the right consistency. We traditionally make cheez it crackers sandwiched with peanut butter and dipped in chocolate. Very tedious work but taste just like a BUTTERFINGER. Name that movie Kim! They are so good though. My husband’s favorite.

In Australia many of our gingerbread recipes call for golden syrup (not molasses), when I lived in the States I used Mrs Buttersworth syrup... it was very close flavourwise.

I don’t know what you think that lol I just rewatched it and I only added 3 cups. The first cup I scooped out I didn’t add to the bowl I set it on the counter then refilled the jar 👍 once the jar was refilled I added the three cups of flour to the bowl. 👌
