Loved seeing their ideas coming to life. And I love Gabe’s “Awesome Dude” sweatshirt! 😂 Several years ago I used to collect small ceramic animals each year that I added to my nativity scene. Not the traditional Christmas story animals, but all sorts of animals, and day by day the last week of Advent I brought them out one by one and gradually moved them closer to the stable so that when I finally added Baby Jesus on Christmas Eve all the animals were gathered round to “come and see” the baby. I haven’t done that in several years as my decorating has gotten more minimal as I’ve gotten older, but this brought back fond memories.

I’m 31 and a stay at home mom of 2 boys. I just recently found your blog and KZbin channel and my what a beautiful home you have! The boys’ room is so adorable and I love the theme. I’ve been through many different design styles and am now on a journey of trying to simplify our home and decorate more in line with your style. I love the cottage/earthy elements. I forget the title of your video but it was talking about humble beginnings and you showed pictures of your home before you really knew your design style and I just want to say-thank you. It really resonated with me because I’m still trying to make our home look cohesive but it was just a gentle reminder that it’s a process. We’re a military family and move every few years so we don’t have roots anywhere. It’s a beautiful life and we’ve been blessed but it is challenging trying to make everything fit every new home so now I’m just working on making all of our stuff have a cohesive look. That way no matter where we go, it will all go together. Sorry this is long. Thanks so much your an inspiration!

Andrea, letting the boys choose their own theme for their Christmas tree is just priceless. They will always remember this. Also you can talk to them about the animals that were there when Jesus was born in the manger inside the stable. Animals have such an innocence and unconditional love to give. It was so cute watching your boys open their boxes at the table. We even got a glimpse of Isaiah! You could just see the anticipation of him wanting to join his big brothers in helping them. Their bedroom turned out so precious. Honey, enjoy these moments! I am so proud of you and Mike! Y'all are the best and sweetest parents. Notice, I didn't say perfect! Only God is our perfect father. We visited Frankenmuth on our 25th anniversary road trip and made sure to go into Bronner's. This was in July 1997. OH MY!!!!! The store was so overwhelming, I began to tear up. We did not see everything, but the memory has remained these 24.5 years since. Michigan is wonderful. Blessings for a lovely Christmas season; you're making the best memories with your family.

What a perfect tree for the boys bedroom…. They have such style already! “The ornament doesn’t fall far from the Christmas tree”…. Lol! I always love Bronners for a winter Christmas visit!! Love Puleo trees…..I can almost smell the pine it so real!! PS….as kids, we all slept together in on room in 2 full beds. Love the blue plaid blanket tree skirt! The boys are beautiful….and so very smart!!

What a great lesson for parents. Kids have their own ideas. It may not be our preferred choice, but giving them ownership over their decision is a great life lesson for kids!! There is no better way than to first-hand experience making a decision and reaping the benefits (or sometimes the failure). Their tree is just beautiful. They must be very proud!!

Yes, my sisters and I shared a room, we didn't always love it haha, but for the most part we played together and enjoyed it so much. My mom always let us pick out the decorations too! ❤

It turned out so stinking cute. I grew up in a tiny tenant house and there were 6 of us kids. Us 3 girls shared a room and the 3 boys shared one.I do not understand this culture when everyone has separate rooms. So many do not even have that kind of space and are lucky to have a home at all.I was great fun for the home I had and for the one I have now.

Love it. My 3 boys are now 50, 45 and 40 with families of their own. They would have loved a tree like that. I know it sounds like it will be a long time before your boys are my boys age; but, believe me, they were infants just yesterday. Savor every minute. And funny, it seems boys are very sentimental about memories and family. Plus, they love their mothers. Huge plus. Always wanted a girl; but I am so blessed to have all boys.

I absolutely love your boys room and the decor for Christmas. My own Christmas tree is mainly all types of animals; with some soft Santas, snowmen, here and there. It’s just sooo adorable!! No, I’ve never seen an animal themed Christmas tree and it’s perfect!! Love the blanket tree skirt too! You could even drape it on the chair for winter if they like to snuggle in them and read there. What a sweet idea with the old book garland too! Just love this room!! 💙

Wonderful creativity little men ! You have decorating talent like your Mom . I love your choice and I have a grandson who is 4 and he loves animals and anything that is construction equipment, like Dump trucks, excavators, cranes and more. Andrea, so perfect and I think it’s especially nice you let them pick. No, I don’t know if I have seen an animal themed Christmas Tree until this year !BUT we had all daughters and granddaughters until 4 years ago ! LOL!! I asked our youngest daughter ( who is soon turning 42 ) to send pictures of our grandkids in front of the tree. She has the 4 year old boy and 3 year old girl… I try so hard to make her “girly”…. but big brother’s dinosaurs are more fun! A least they come in pink and purple …LOL!!! I laughed at the kids standing almost head to head , so close in age, in front of semi dinosaurs and Christmas bulb tree…. So I guess close to an animal themed tree ! All to soon they grow up …cherish the moments. I keep telling our daughter that too, working full-time she keeps saying I’m too old for this…LOL!! This is EXACTLY what I thought of for their bedroom. I’m so happy that you found a company like Kiwi Co and their mission. I am stepmom to 5, who are now grown, but were under the age of 5 yrs when we became a family. Although my kids and hubby enjoyed playing video games together, I also encouraged their creativity. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, sometimes paper and pencil for drawing, extra blankets for forts, and even learning how to cook and bake. My 3 boys shared a room, and they created the most amazing space, not strictly decorated, but enchanting with mini vignettes using their toys.

That is funny, kids never like what you like or think is cute😂, but it turned out so beautiful. I love the animal theme and the book pages are a perfect match!😍 It’s so sweet they want to be together☺️ They will want their independence soon enough 😊 I love the size of the stocking but I always cram mine so they need to be sturdy and big enough! Love the rocking horse too. Critical thinking is truly missing today. Kiwi Co reminds me of kinder eggs we used to get in Germany but on a larger scale!

That blanket as a tree skirt works perfect. I was trying to find a tree skirt this year but many of the ones i wanted were expensive and I just decided to use some primtive country look fabric and I put it around the Bottom with a big piece of Ribbon and pine cones.

Andrea I think it is good that your boys love sharing a room and to be honest I think as life has gone a long there is this thing where we feel bigger is better but you know honestly that is not true. I mean a bedroom can be a place to play for them but overall it is a place to sleep and when they are able to play outside in nice weather that is where most kids are. I never had my own room till I was like 16. We could not afford a big home and so most of the time I slept on our sofa in the living room. When my parents moved I got my own room. My brother were grown. I was the youngest. So honestly I think it is great they share a room and also that they choose that and love that. I never had a sister but the fact you shared a room with your sisters I believe in many ways that probably made you closer. God provides for our needs. Now always our wants. At times I can see in my life where he has blessed me beyound measure but there have been times my husband and I have lived in real small places and you know what we were thankful. I know you are too :)

I haven't seen an animal Christmas theme before. To me it doesn't say Christmas at all...unless it were animals that go with a nativity scene. That said, if it is what the boys wanted and supported, then it is EXACTLY the right theme for their room. The animals can stay after Christmas and it won't look like you forgot to take down the seasonal decorations. .

Lovely room! Our tree is also animal themed. Every year we add another animal (or two) with the concept that it's an animal we saw that year to mark special memories. This year we added a bobcat to commemorate a family of bobcats we saw hiking over the summer and also a donkey to commemorate a vacation in early autumn that (unexpectedly) happened to include two donkey farms LOL!
