Christopher Anderson - Coming back from the edge.

THIS VIDEO: Christopher Anderson’s star has risen exponentially within the photographic world and he’s now a full member of Magnum Picture agency. His images have appeared on the covers of top magazines , he’s published five books and he’s directed commercials for Nike and Pepsi. He was born in Canada in 1970 and grew up in west Texas. He sort of stumbled into a career as a photographer and began working for local newspapers. In 2000 his life changed dramatically - while on assignment for New York Times Magazine, he boarded a small wooden boat, called ‘believe in God’ with 44 Haitians trying to sail across the Caribbean sea to America. While on the open water the boat started to sink and while the passengers were saying goodbye to each other and preparing to die, Anderson took pictures.
