Had I known that 3 years ago.......oh boy, it would have eased my misery. I actualy thought I wad losing it at some points. It's so comforting to hear that thinking and even overthinking is normal. After listening to a Ted talk about it hit me.... Understanding that no one injects my bidy a shot of rage, sadness, fear, happiness...... It is ME / it is my brain that produce those feelings, so I DO have control. I can choose how to feel or to change the way something feels. It is liberating! Once again, a great video. Thanks

This is why Mindfulness Meditation Works. You need to relax your Mind as well as your Body. Meditation helps you relax both your Mind and your Body. Just let thoughts Go. When you rest your Mind and Body and Live in Peace..Your Mind and Body Heals itself. Mindfulness meditation has helped me more than anything.

Can you describe what "Mindfulness meditation" is? I think of it as living in the present moment and noticeing everything around me ...for example, nature. We are at the shore with lovely views until the weather gets cold. There is lots of natural beauty to enjoy. I'm not good at lying still and clearing my mind. (meditation ) I have tried many times over the past few years .. So instead I try to do the above..Does that make sense? Thanks everyone!

@@katherinedoherty8823 Yes! Mindfulness Meditation is living in the Present and being Aware of your thoughts. Focusing on what is Good for you and letting the fearful or angry thoughts..or whatever thoughts do not serve you..Just let them go zip..right on through. I do a little 10 minute purposeful meditation that brings me there..if I get off track and into overthinking..which I have tendency to do. What you are doing Sounds good to me. Nature puts you there easily. I sometimes take these nature hikes on my iPad..if my real nature isn’t available.

Really great video. If only I could stop stressing and being negative and freaked out over symptoms of fight flight the pain would leave. Stuck in the loop. So hard to break this cycle. I've tried so hard to stop being in freak out mode but I'm in it all the time. It is a constant feeling of adrenaline and cortisol pumping which makes it so hard to deal with. Just can't seem to switch it off it's my constant companion and it's running my life. The worry loop of it all is so draining. Have pain in my butt bones all the time with the tension. No journaling is helping. Feel broken. I wish I could deal with the thoughts that tell me this is my life now. Anxiety is a real beast to deal with and crippling and taken my daily life away. Feeling very sad and lonely with it. Have had an odd day when no fight flight and it's like being in heaven as all symptoms mental and physical disappear. I would give up everything I own to be free of the anxiety it's a debilitating condition.

Hey Julie - Please re-read your comment above. Thinking these "I'm broken" thoughts all the time will cause us to FEEL broken all the time. Your number one job is to TEACH your brain that you are safe. You don't have to believe what you even wrote above. You don't have to define yourself because you feel anxious today. Mindset is hugely important. Perhaps this video from a while back can help: Mindset Matters Most - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKiVimNra6x4jMk

Julie, I'm right there with you. I'm convinced that the anxiety/ fear is now driving my pain (which is similar to yours. Anxiety is not our fault, it's just genetics. Some people are lucky to be the type that doesn't worry much. I also think it's somewhat related to environment/upbringing. But then again, I know two brothers.. one doesn't worry "about things he can't control" while the other sometimes complains about trivial stuff, rather than just enjoying good health. I too want to be rid of this beast of anxiety. But I do re-assure myself.. by not blaming myself. And hopefully can get rid of it here in this group !

@@katherinedoherty8823 Hey Katherine thanks for message. Yes it really is a you know what condition. I've had a few days when I had no anxiety and no pain. For me no anxiety equals no pain. But when I started having bladder frequency last year I completely freaked out and my anxiety already present when completely insane and I've not been able to go backwards since. All tests negative. Then has pain in butt bones aka piriformis and then freaked some more. Had huge stress since early 2018 and ongoing. I have always been a worrier but was able to manage and live life. This new level of anxiety has robbed my life. My family and friends are more than sick of me going on and on about how I feel, sick of myself too! Covid not helping with the extra fuel thrown on. I've researched and read about anxiety so much and yet no relief. Let's hope we can get some peace and recovery. If not we can move in with Dan! I'm sure he would love that:) I'm in the UK how about you Katherine?

Thanks for always knowing what to say. I find it so difficult when symptoms don’t go that thoughts slip in. I must have cancer or a tumour it must be serious. My brain just wants me to believe this as I haven’t managed to quell the symptoms or fear. Every time I have a virus seem to feel like I can’t breathe although chest always clear. This feeds my anxiety too. As well as numbness, tingling and strange body sensations and docs say I have gastritis too. I know it’s all TMS but my brain just won’t be quite and sensations esp numbness in head scares more. However, I won’t give up and keep going. So appreciate you ❤

Very interesting video Dan! I'm barraged daily by thoughts that I'm not a "good enough" person. ( I'm a life-long Catholic, so I'm extra srupulous, a part of our up-bringing! ) This probably explains why so many thoughts are coming at me. Am I good enough? Am I doing the right thing in a particular situation? I over-analyze how it will be perceived by others as well. But your video reinforces the idea , that "it's just a thought" and to just let it go by...Thanks for this video.

Per my comments in the video - we don't need to change our negative thoughts, but we don't have to agree with them or believe them. Just let them float by. When the more positive thoughts come by, grab onto those.

I’m a bit confused. Isn’t changing your thoughts a way off surpressing your feelings? For example: my neighbors are renovating there appartement at a very slow pace. Every morning some people come over to work 2 hours and then they go. This lasts allready 2 years and makes me mad because off waking me in the morning. My thoughts go in ‘negative mode’. I try to feel the anger but in a way I also think, let it, you can’t change it, it shouldn’t make you mad. How should I behave in this kind off situations? Suggestions?
@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou 3 жыл бұрын
It's important to allow yourself to feel whatever you are feeling. But you don't have to live in that anger all day long. Feel it, let it go.

Not sure I know what’s next…especially on these “spicy symptoms” days. I don’t want to be the go-go-go/no boundaries/people pleaser that got me into this mess of n the first place. Nor do I want to be this shell-person carrying her symptoms around. WHO AM I next?
@Waves353
@Waves353 Жыл бұрын
Chronic mental stress had created my symptoms and the “treatment” made me worse and then labelled (boy those are hard to let go of in intense times..maybe they’re right etc) but I do know it’s tms. Question.. I’m doing the “work” unfortunately, it may be your work but by working it every waking minute therefore reinforcing somethings wrong? Like it’s a persistent “oh well, it is what it is, I’m safe, all is well, try to live life (small small life at this stage). A lot of catastrophising and beating myself up for not being stronger, then trying to self soothe and be gentle on myself whilst grieving all the loss. Any advice Dan? Struggling a lot Your videos are my go to, and perhaps too much of an addictive distraction
@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou Жыл бұрын
Trying to "heal" all day long is NOT the way to go. There's nothing to heal. How much time would you spend rebuilding the engine on a car that is working perfectly? The best thing I can suggest is my Fast Start playlist. It will allow you to deepen your insight into what's going on and what to do about it. Watch these videos often. Take notes.
