Oh, something else that I didn't mention was that the Mayor's House in 1000 A.D. (Present) can teach the player of some of the game's mechanics and how battles work, as well as some other details that you may not have noticed.

Roman Numerals are read based on an addition and subtraction system. You have a primary numeral representing 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 1000 etc and then you place additional digits to the left or right of that symbol. If the smaller numeral is to the right of a larger you add it to the primary numeral. If it's to the left you subtract it. For example one is I. For two I is the primary numeral and you add an additional I to the right of it, so it's II. You could technically write 3 as IIV (two less than five), but it's convention to only subtract one digit before the primary to keep things from being too confusing. So 3 is III, 4 is IV, and five is V. Five is the next primary numeral so you start adding again with ones for 6, 7, and 8 (VI, VII, VIII respectively). Ten is X and by convention one less than ten is nine (IX). Then you've got XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV and so on. XXI is literally ten plus eleven, so yes it's 21. The other primary numerals are L for 50, C for 100, and M for 1000. Its very rare to see any roman numerals above the thousands because of how cumbersome it becomes to write them. The only place I can think of is the Motion Picture Association of America who still use Roman Numerals for years when rating movies. The current year for example is MMXXIV (two-thousands and four more than twenty). Chrono Trigger released in MCMXCV (One thousand plus one hundred less than one thousand plus ten less than one hundred plus five) :)

Akira Toriyama is the man! His style is easily recognizable. I may be wrong, but I think most people know him from Dragon Ball, but he also designed characters for Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, and Blue Dragon. I was 2 when the game came out, so I couldn't enjoy it back then either. I also played it first on Steam and it was such a good experience that I bought the DS version, which IMHO is the best. I tried the original version on an emulator because I don't own an SNES duh. It's great that you also play on PC. For budget reasons, I only buy digital games on PC and physical games on console. Most games require you to use the keyboard in addition to the controller hahaha. I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but Epic Games store is known for giving away really good games, two months ago they were giving away one game per week. I prefer longer episodes, it takes me two or three days to finish watching them but it feels like you are uploading more content than just one video a week.

DS are just so expensive now haha if I could find one relatively inexpensive I would pull the trigger. This is my first like console game on a PC experience through Steam so totally didn't understand that for a moment haha. Yeah I think a an hour and a half to 2 hour episode for a weekly upload is a good length, and doesn't make me feel like I'm not retaining information enough when coming back to play another session. The Naga Bromide, is a psuedo key item it does not appear in your inventory from what I remember but it does has it uses as it can be traded later on in the game for a magic capsule. Fun fact: A Bromide is a Japanese term for a pin-up photo so in others it is an erotic picture of a Naga those enemies masquerading as nuns when you first enter the cathedral and see through out the game. So you basically took those monsters porn lol.

@@MrMilesTV word, so makes me worry about the potntial future of a remake of this game. yeah we just got the dragon quest remakes but been hearing some potentially worrying things that im still trying to varify

Dunno if you figured it out in the video (I'm still watching as I'm writing) but you can run faster with the other button next to your main interact button (dunno what it is on your ps controller). In addition, you could have saved the kitty if you just interacted with it once and then ran back to the girl (the cat follows you, but if you interact with it twice, you scare it away like you did). Finally, you CAN actually use potions and other items from the menu. It should be the A button again. I suggest you also look at the settings option, as there are different colored text borders, text speed options in battle, battle speed toggles, and more. EDIT 1: You can save your game any time im the overworld, when your characters are tiny. EDIT2: You didnt miss much in the beginning, but you could have explored a bit in town. There are items and an old man ( tutorial NPC) that gives you 300g if you interact with him long enough.

​@@MrMilesTVNo, it's not a glitch, it's on purpose like I said. When you interact with it twice, it gets scared. You only need to press A on it once, and then it will simply follow you.

One thing I would recommend is using the original pixel artstyle. The way this filter works is it doesn't add new pixels to original sprites to create more depth, but mixes and blurs them together into a mess, that to me almost looks like Ai art, so as a result you end up with uneven look and lose depth, compared to pixels, which are more sharp and because of that image is more clear. It's fine if you like how this looks tho.

@@MrMilesTV i'm pretty sure you can do it from the menu. I kinda gave up on the steam version after I saw how they muted colors and how much you had to mod it to be like original, so I just stuck with SNES version. There are some improvments here tho. For example there are more NPCs so the world feels more lived in.

@@MrMilesTV oh i meant emulator lol. Stuff like 16 bit games work fine, with no problems, so if there is no good way to get those games (Like those awful classic Sonic remasters) I just use the roms.

So after watching this, I now know I did NOT play the Steam version - I played the PS3 Digital version, which tbh looks a bit better than this if you are interested/have access to it! Also I can tell how excited you are for this one and I LOVE IT! Super contagious!

You can save on the world map, also really hope you enjoy this game... also it's a little late to mention this considering you already opened all the chests in the castle but what you open in the past gets opened in the present there's only one other location in the game where this information is useful so don't worry about it thought I will say to keep the information in mind for when the black boxes come into play.

Personally I would of played the SNES version over the ps1/steam version but nonetheless youll love this game. There is also more content in the DS version appearently.

@@MrMilesTV You should be good. Its virtually the same game but has cutscenes and the steam version has updated controls, which to be honest isnt much of an update just visuals really.
