@@strip4anti396 Like most modern cars, it really depends on the maintenance & how the cars are cared for. Mine is still very strong @ 127,000 miles. The transmission is by Mercedes Benz and reportedly a reliable unit. I've had no trouble out of mine. Your milage may vary.

You should be able to run these times or better. Get a good intake, long tube headers, full 3” exhaust system w/ hi flow cats or no cats at all, Diablosport tuner & some drag radials. That’s a good start. If you got the 💰a cam & higher stall torque converter would really wake it up!

No, I've not done any weight reduction yet. Still has full interior, stereo, power windows, seats etc..... She still weighs at least 4000 lbs. It's mostly the 3.92 gear and drag radials that are responsible for the times. Intake, Exhaust, Gear, Tune & Tires are the main upgrades. I've also changed a few Suspension parts like billet aluminum Control arms. Still on stock springs and shocks for now. I went with the 3.92 and it's great!. Knocked off 3/10's in the 1/8 mile on street tires with the gear alone. It's not so much a highway cruiser anymore with the 5 Speed tranny but well worth it IMO.

A lower gear is going to help your acceleration everywhere. From a dig or from a roll. The lower the gear the quicker the engine is going to go through its RPM range the faster the car will accelerate.. It depends on how low you are willing to go. You do lose top speed capabilities the lower you go but even with the 3.92 gear and the NAG-1 I still have about 160 mph top speed at 6,000 RPM in 5th gear

@@nep639 Yes, I still have the stock two-piece driveshaft in my car. We've tried several different one and two piece driveshaft from places like thedriveshaftshop.com They all vibrated terribly. I may try a QA1 carbon fiber shaft in the future.

I went with all new components. highhorseperformance.com/mopar-3-92-getrag-lsd-differential-5038237ai/ You just need to get the differential/axles from a 2009-2014 SRT8 Challenger/Charger I believe. I think the hot ticket now is to go with the later ZF differential but, that requires the newer rear cradle and a different driveshaft as well if I'm not mistaken..

It is the 5.7. It's not an SRT8. If you can find a good SRT8 version I would definitely recommend it over the 5.7. You'll be at a much better starting point but the 5.7's do respond well to mods. Mine is an 09' and I've owned it since 2013. It's been the best car I've ever had. Still runs and drives like new at 118,000 miles. If you get a 5.7 I would suggest 09' and up. Yea the SRT8's are gonna bring more money. Sometimes you just have to get what's in your price range and build from there. The 05's where 340 HP, 09' 360 HP & the SRT8's with the 6.1 are 425 HP in stock form. Good luck and I hope you find a good car.

I would say that's probably normal. The stock thermostats on these cars are 203 Deg.which should be around 1/2 on the gauge. The fan doesn't go into High Speed mode until around 213 if I remember correctly. I'm running a 195 Deg. Thermostat and have programmed the fans to come on sooner with the Diablosport Tuner. Many people run 180 Deg Thermostats. Must be nice to have an SRT version. The 6.1 is a beast!

@@ZeroEmpire My 07 hemi is when you turn the key. Not sure what year yours is? But I heard AWD isn’t all that cause the front is for control. I usually drive mine with just traction control off so it can still burn but not waddle all out. I still haven’t really tested the real difference.

I feel they’re good. If you have a hemi stock you have good speed for average cars on the road.
