Obviously, you haven't heard of or driven the HSV Clubsport R8 or it's base counterpart, the Holden Commodore SS (VE model, the last generation before they seized production in 2017). Don't get me wrong, we still get the 300 and all it's variations in Australia, but the HSV Clubsport R8 is a insane sedan. Yes, it's basically the same as the 300 C, big V8, American based, but locally built, sedan, RWD, and you could get manual too. It's a shame that all of these cars are gone here in Australia. Everything is either a small FWD hatch, cross-over SUV, SUV, 4×4 or Ute (a truck in American terms), Vans and EV's. You can get RWD coupes and sedans new, but you would have to pay an extreme amount of money, plus, in Australia, when cars are over a certain amount, we have a luxury car tax, that's on top of all the other taxes. What I would do if we had car prices like you guys have in the States.

Gonna miss these 300/Charger/Challengers. I owned a 2012 Charger SRT for ten years until trading it in on an M550ix. The BMW is generally a better car, but the Charger wasn't far behind it. Yeah, this car isn't a good value new in this configuration, but you can pick up a 5 speed auto/5.7 Hemi car for $10k or less these days, and it's a cam and converter away from being a 12 second, comfortable cruiser that has that old school, American Muscle feel. I've always felt that 12/13 second daily drivers are a good spot to be in and still be able to have fun without getting too carried away with speed to feel like you're "using it", how James mentioned.

@gavin2520 Жыл бұрын
Really the only way a 5.7 will feel like a 6.4 is with a supercharger and that just kills your mileage and it's harder on your entire drive train. It's still overpriced, but a 5.7 just can't replace a 6.4 imo.

I owned a 300S AWD and V6. I loved the car for a daily. I bought it used before covid and watched the price of it soar, had to sell it back when I made money on it. I really, really like it. The style is muscular, gangster, American, comfy. My only complaint is that I could not get it with a stick shift. In Sport mode it was plenty of fun, but I hate having to switch modes, I would prefer leaving it in gear/downshifting for a quick blast around a corner. 300hp is the sweet spot for fun and MPG in a daily.

The reviewers compared the 300C to the Lexus IS500 and preferred the latter. However, the 300C costs less, has more room, and is faster 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. I dont think anyone intetested in a 300C would actually find the Lexus to be a serious alternative.

2 years and only 5 months? That sounds pretty fly for a Chrysler. I managed to get out of my Ford purchase since the repair technicians themselves kept finding faults one after the other. I ordered mats from Weather Tech for a 2007 Nissan Murano at considerable expense. The mats didn't fit the factory mounting points and provided terrible coverage. I would have got a better fit with a generic cut to fit mat for a fraction of the price from Canadian Tire. I contacted Weather Tech via email and they completely ignored me. Not a single response to multiple emails. I took this to mean Weather Tech already knew their mats for a Murano were absolute garbage and couldn't care less about customer service. More recently I ordered mats for a 2019 Acura RDX from Tux Mat. They fit beautifully and are worth every penny. I wouldn't trust Weather Tech to provide a decent coaster much less a full set of mats. As always YMMV.

...I've always thought these cars looked great, especially when everyone else is building boring looking CUV/Crossovers...and other sedans were jagged and looked out of place (Cadillac)...this always just looked right...nice smooth lines, proportions were always just right room to spare (sure you may sit high, but with a big level hood like this car has you want to be able to see where it ends...other cars drooped their noses for a less desirable effect)...to me they have always drove well, and for the money you really couldn't beat them...sure you can get nicer, but you will spend more to get it...I also like the fact that they aren't 'over-techy'....cars are getting to nutty with too much 'tech'...too much stuff to go wrong, and some of the tech really isn't needed...such as soft close doors...these are some of the reasons that higher priced luxury cars can't hold their value as when, after a certain age, they are known for a lot of expensive repairs in their 'tech'...to me the 300's were always the right balance of car, tech, luxury, style, power and ride...

These and the high trim chargers catch a lot of flack, but I gotta say, they kinda nail it for the price. I loved my charger when I had it. It handled surprisingly well and had enough power to melt tires in third gear. It didn’t have many features but it was extremely comfortable and easy to drive when you wanted to cruise the highway. It had keyless entry, push button start, and a backup camera, and at the time those were all luxurious to me. And despite Chrysler’s reputation, I drove that thing until 200k miles and the only thing that ever happened was a bad water pump. Otherwise very cheap to maintain. I drive a Mk7.5 GTI now and it’s honestly not any nicer, just a better fit for what I need at this stage in life. If and when I return to a sedan it will be a hellcat charger.
