This is the 3rd video since you're return that's been about or included Death and Chuck's sound. As someone who got into death about 4 years ago and hasn't stopped listening to them daily since, this has been incredible. You're so right about Chuck's writing, the saddest part his passing is knowing we've missed out on some incredible material, he was getting more proggy and I think that's where he would've exploded imo Cheers Lamb you legend!

It's probably because the original amp had 1 pre amp tube ecc83/12ax7 and a solid state power or output stage but here the roles are little reversed because he put the pedal in the return side of the effects loop and completely bypassed the preamp so now you have a completely solid state preamp(the pedal)and an el34 output stage but I thought it sounded very authentic the next best thing to having a UK made valvestate 8100 head or 8080 combo

I recently made a cover of Zombie Ritual and I struggled to get the level of gain that Chuck used on Scream bloody Gore, I eventually managed to the closer as possible with Neural DSP plugins. Would one of those passive volume control gadgets designed for a serial FX loop allow you to turn the preamp up without risking the amp's FX return?
@LambChopper6782 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it’s needed mate unless you happen to have a preamp that needs to be cranked to sound good. This pedal sounds great at lower levels. Turning it up seems to sound like it clips and loses a little clarity.

I wonder if you could cop some Fear Factory tones out of that pedal ? I think Dino used some Valvestates too. It’s a pretty crushing pedal for sure, I’ve just sorta gotten into running pedals into the return of my DSL20 the power section of the DSL20 is surprisingly big and clean huh ? You just can’t get that level of saturation out of the DSL20 going through the front in or at least it’ll never be as tight and the DSL is a pretty tight amp.
