At about 14:32, the sound for the Water Wraith entering the floor is played. Episode 27 At about 4:01, the sound for the Water Wraith entering the floor is played. However, there was a cut in the video prior to that. At about 4:10, gameplay is resumed, but chuggaaconroy may have cut away some screen time on floor four before then. At about 8:18, the sound for the Water Wraith entering the floor is played. I shall collect further information as I continue watching these videos.

Yeah. Sublevel 4 of the Submerged Castle is likely the hardest part of the entire game if you're attempting a deathless pikmin run while spending a minimal amount of days. At least in the other caverns at the Wistful Wilds, you don't have to worry about time due to the lack of the Water Wraith. In the Submerged Castle, you have to factor in your speed along with the bomb rocks, volatile dweevils, electric hazards, and whatnot--reset counter through the roof!

This dungeon is not even that hard if you do it the right (cheecky) way. I normally just store my pikmins away at a safe spot like at 10:14, hide like 80 pikmin and go get the treasures with a squad of 20 pikmin (which is most of the time just enough for the treasures). When the pikmins are carrying the treasure i leave them and try to bait the waterwraith with one of my captains, because the waterwraith doesn't go for the pikmin but goes for the captain (the active captain), so just make him go circles while the pikmins carry the treasure. I atleast never go in with my whole squad of ±100 pikmin and collect the treasures like Chuggaa is doing here. This way should be a safe way (atleast it was for me), only downside is is that it may take some more time.

Aside from the likes of F-Zero and Fire Emblem, has Nintendo made a game this hard since at least the SNES? I understand that they have their brutal series, but Pikmin 1 wasn't brutal and Pikmin 3 proved to be significantly less brutal once it came out. So what's with this game?

Most likely because it was a response from the critics saying the first one was too easy. They fixed alot of issues that critics addressed like length, pikimin AI, the time limit, and the need for another partner to add more complexity to puzzles. Also it might be because since they got rid of the time limit, which was the most difficult part of the original game, they needed to make things more intense.

Tip for new players: I recommend completing the Subterranean Complex before this dungeon. Its reward makes this dungeon hell of a lot easier. EDIT: Also, in one of the levels of the Submerged Castle, there's a hall of gates, if you can get the Waterwraith to turn around when between 2 gateways, it'll get stuck until approached.

The waterwraith can ACTUALLY be killed...but not in Submerged Castle. Like chuggaa said before he entered it, you can only take in BLUE Pikmin. You cannot kill it in Submerged castle, but there is a level in CHALLENGE MODE where you can kill it, Bully Den. You need any color pikmin, mostly purples, Purple Potions, and skill. First, rather make the purple pikmin ground pound to stun it or use the purple potion. It will turn purple. Then attack it with pikmin. When purple it will become vunerable
