The biggest Sin in this movie to me was them leaving the Farm in the first place. In the first movie, they established quite clearly there were only 3 Death Angels in their area. So after killing said 3 monsters, their farm is probably the safest place in the state for awhile. Sure, another Death Angel could make its way there, but after being there over a year without more than 3 coming around, I'd think staying in the place with running water, electricity, food, shelter, and no Death Angels is probably where you want to be. But naaaaahhhh, let's go on a walk through the wilderness we have no clue about and hope for the best with a baby in tow...

@@jaydee6574 Well, that's just pure speculation and not established at all in the movie. But even so, you have just killed 3 of them using a proven method that requires electricity and the equipment you have on site. Your best chance of survival is to stay right there with that equipment! Besides, if 20 more were on the way, wouldn't walking out into the unknown be the worst thing to do? Aren't you more likely to run into one of those 20 simply by being out in the open as they move towards the Farm? Also, if you are that concerned about fighting more, you know how you avoid 20 new Death Angels who are potentially coming from outside your area...stop making noise!

Over the summer, I had an old woman come into the pizza place I work at who was deaf, but I couldn't figure that out just by sight (no hearing aids or anything). She was really patient with me and understood that it took me a minute to figure out what she needed me to do so she could understand, because I initially didn't know what she was asking. Eventually, I was able to figure out she needed me to enunciate almost to the point of exaggeration (her words, not mine)because that was the best way for her to read my lips. And when it was all said and done, she thanked me multiple times for my service, which gave the impression that she'd had experiences with employees or businesses who weren't willing to learn even simple ways to communicate with her as she needed. It was honestly a really teaching experience for me, and I know I'm not going to forget that sweet old woman anytime soon.

Please. How the hell where the militaries of the entire world completely defeated when we have weapons right now that can punch through the hardest materials available to us. The aliens can't swim or fly...sooo we still have forces on the water and in the air...
@1crazybitch2 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyleedunlap3732 Yeah, both of these plotholes are big letdowns. There should be many small islands, cruiseships, private yachts, and military naval convoys that are doing just fine, after finding ways/places to secure supplies. And the vulnarability of the aliens is a joke that makes it impossible to take anything seriously. The first movie tries to establish them as indistructable, with a newspaper (that was still being written, printed and distributed after society broke down...) stating that they are "bullet and bomb proof". And yet they can be taken out with a single shot from a shotgun or a hunting rifle once their "natural armour" around their head is slightly exposed due to the feedback noise from the cochlear implant? Nope. If they can be killed that way, then they can be killed with mortar fire, artillery, naval guns, tanks, helicopters with autocannonons, gunships, fighter jets, AGMs from UAVs, ... There's no way all the countries with militaries around the world were overrun by these aliens, but then a few people with hunting weapons take them out one after the other when it's convenient to the plot. And on top of all this there is the annoying "society breaks down" trope of so many apocapytic movies. In these films, as soon as disaster strikes, it's always not only "every man for himself", but almost everyone seems to turn into a coldhearted, selfish, murderous psychopath. Cruel cannibalistic cults form and turn on everyone else, but the few decent people want to stay alone and not help anyone. This goes against human nature and history. We are social animals, that's why we have society in the first place. And whenever disaster strikes in the real world, you can see how people stick together, help each other, and are willing to make sacrifeces for the good of others without a second thought. That is how humans work, not saying "oh, society broke down, now it's me against everyone".

Yeah, exactly, in fact, since his actor aged so much since last time, not only does he look older than his older sister, he became taller than her and the actor had to crouch in some scenes to be shorter than the girl. Considering that the sequel takes place immediately after the first film and Marcus clearly aged like five years but they still treat him like the kid he was in the first movie, it just breaks the suspension of disbelief. They should have used different characters for the sequel, I mean, the characters completed their arc in the first film, right? The sequel could have showed us how a different family deals with the Death Angels instead.

Honestly, the first one was great, the sequel was just okay. The creatures were mega nerfed, and I don't buy it that the creature's weakness is water. Do you know how many military bases/subs we currently have in the water right now? Civilization would not have fallen over night. Also, they didn't really have any reason to leave the house. Sure it was beat up a bit, but they have the ability to kill the creature now. Sure, maybe it's to spread the way they can be killed, but in that case they're going somewhere where they don't even know if there are people. It's not like the family is useless and don't know how to farm. Along with that, on the trip, they should've just grabbed more oxygen at the pharmacy, WHY would you not grab extra oxygen if you KNEW you were going on a long trip, where the destination may or may not have oxygen tanks? And the monster's go in and out of getting stupid when it's convenient for the plot. So they can't hear someone 5 ft away, BUT CAN hear someone from 50 yards away who accidentally spoke out of a whisper? Not to mention that the son's character was completely wasted, in addition to his "character arc" showing so little growth, that it's undeserved.
@stefangames60473 жыл бұрын
Also they spend the entire movie walking around with the monster killing hearing aids and almost never use it. They have no more reason to sneak anywhere anymore because it only takes a few 10s of seconds and a single shot gun shell to deal with one monster. Given how they seem somewhat territorial and only three were near the farm property they'd easily be able to travel between towns with the resources they need

It's maddening that they set up this sequel "to answer the questions people had" from the first movie. And answers barely any. The most glaring unanswered question being these things hearing capabilities. They can hear a grain silo door falling onto grain from miles away while underground in a sound padded bunker, but not the baby stirring 2 feet away behind a little bit of running water. They pounce on every bit of noise, conveniently not going crazy from trying to jump on falling rain, insects that are too small too be cut up by them, etc. It is one the main focus of the movie's plot, the primary driving force, so you cannot 'suspend disbelief' at such arbitrariness. What's worse is the emotional depth, character development, and effective storytelling from the first movie is largely gone in this one, so I couldn't even be distracted from the glaring problems like I was before.
@ender_playz2 жыл бұрын
I think they might not go for the rain and insects because they got used to hearing it and realized it’s not something they could eat and kill
@kstephenson58572 жыл бұрын
Have you ever used a sound amplifier, like a hearing aide? It magnifies all sound, meaning the contrast in the loudness of two sounds stays the same. It's the reason that deaf people that use hearing aides still have difficulty carrying conversations when other sounds are in the same vicinity. To be near a significantly louder sound would actually cover your sounds given that while your, say, heartbeat is now 5x louder, so would the much-louder sound of the nearby waterfall. and nearby sounds like insects and rain could absolutely be chalked up to consistent exposure lessening their aggressive reaction to the same sound. After all, they didn't attack the waterfalls or streams constantly. Sudden or loud sounds that are distinguishable from ambient noise seem to attract them with surprising consistency within the films.

Jeremy is hard of hearing; it’s why all his videos are captioned.
@LucianDevine3 жыл бұрын
@@AnnaZverina It's more than that though. He is harsh on movies when it comes to plot holes and plot conveniences, like in the first movie when he sinned the fact that the family in question was perfectly suited to the disaster at hand, because they had a deaf daughter. He goes the other way here, giving the movie props for not just making this guy understand sign language or know that he needs to speak slow and look at her so she can understand him. Two characters are understandably unable to communicate at first, but rather than have them just make stuff up on the fly and understand each other, she does what a person who can read lips would do, and teaches him how to speak in a way that she can understand. It shows that the movie has a genuine appreciation for the difficulties both sides of the coin deal with, especially during a crisis, and how much Jeremy genuinely enjoys movies, despite his job. He's willing to give them props when they solve a problem, even quickly, in a way that makes complete and total sense, both in reality and in the context of the world that the movie is establishing.

I've always had an issue with the imperviousness of the QP monsters. I find it hard to imagine that a biological material could withstand a 50cal or an RPG. But.. Ok, let's say I grant you that. That doesn't mean that fleshy insides can't be hurt by the concussive force of military weapons. Is physics not a thing in this universe? If taking away the armor means a shot gun can kill them then that means they have fleshy insides that can be liquefied by a big enough hit to the armor. Imagine you made an Ironman suit that could tank an RPG. The armor would survive but the guy inside would be stew.. unless you could develop something that cancels out kinetic energy, maybe turns it to heat or something. It's kind of world breaking for me though
