will you share this review with your father? You 2 can have some fun watching Sean make fun of it. Also I realized 2 things: 1. +TheKeyser94 About the iron chariots, the Israelites once lost a battle because one soldier kept some loot for himself, and Eli's sons lost the ark of the covenant to the philistines because they were giving the tabernacle a bad name. In one battle victory or defeat depended on whether Moses could keep his arms in the air. Whether someone will win or lose depends entirely on what God decides and you will win only on his conditions. Besides they beat the iron chariots a short time later.

Apparently LaHaye hated this adaptation as well. I saw a quote from him where he stated' “It’s probably the worst script I’ve ever read... And I’ve read scores of them.” So, yeah, there is that also... And in terms of the "If God is good why do bad things happen" argument, I think it's a case of the writers of Christians films (A) never really having to wrestle with that question themselves and sort it out, and (B) lacking the skill to place themselves on both sides of the issue and write competent, compelling arguments, which is a MUST for a good portrayal of a debate in a film or play.

You know, it's funny--half a millenia ago, religion and religious people were the motivation for, and patrons and creators of, the finest art in the Western world. It was so good that the best pieces are still revered today as priceless cultural treasures made by peerless masters whose names we still remember, like Michelangelo. But somewhere in the intervening centuries, religious people completely and utterly lost their artistic tastes, and now the stupidest, hackiest, shittiest propaganda is the only type of art that religion--at least christianity--produces; and it's definitely the variety of art that christians--at least the born again variety--prefer. There's a subtextual message there, I think.

The problem with this movie is the 'naner' factor. The movie makes a clear distinction between believer and non-believer and kinda makes the believers act like their better b/c we're more faithful. It then whisks the believers up to heaven and focuses on the people who weren't good enough to get into heaven. "Naner, naner, naner!"

Flash of light and then vanished? Clearly Asgard teleporter technology. Given the context, probably Loki.

Fun fact: the third movie in the direct to video adaptations is based on the last fifty some odd PAGES of the second book.

Aren't planes like the ones in this movie equipped with some kind of device (TCAS?) to help prevent collisions by coordinating evasive maneuvers?

19:04 there are plenty of pastors that become pastors, then lose faith. Because they have no other skills, they continue ministering. The Clergy Project is a thing.

You asked a good question at around 12:45, about senile adults having the minds of children and therefore innocent. But the flaw is in your premise of innocent and how judgment plays a role in it. Judgment, and God's judgment in particular, is not based on how your mind is now, but what you have done. Since babies and very small children have not consciously chosen to do wrong or evil, they did not violate God's law. The senile old woman has. Maybe not that day, maybe not even recently, but has broken God's law, fully aware that what she was choosing to do was wrong.

Didn't the Comedy movie This Is The End (2013) did the same thing? But it was much better.

Two things: 1) I mistakenly thought this was a slasher movie about a killer who collects Left butt-cheeks. 2) The rapture, as defined in this movie actually happened but it was just a couple of people and no one noticed.

I'm pretty sure that airplane (crashes at 11:08) isn't CGI. Maybe in the first shot, where it drops out of the sky, but in the two or three following shots where it hits the car, it looks practical to me.

The 2000 version was better as far as i'm concerned, and only because it had a "plot."
