Sean, not to be rude, but the blu-ray version of The Matrix (specifically the first film) is kind of a waste of money . That version is infamous for being digitally color grated greener than the films original theatrical release and the DVD release (You can find comparison of frames from the blu-ray with the same frames from 35mm theatrical prints online showing their differences) to the point that the movie looked nothing like its original release (or how I say it, printed on a dollar bill). On the plus side, the 4k blu-ray is a far better version since Warner Bros. made no alterations to the film outside of a digital restoration to the original negative (they had to for a film that was almost 20 years old).

Salma Hayek is the queen of my heart, and she definitely deserved better than this. Also so THAT's where the giant robot spider that was oging to be in Superman Lives ended up, and also I definitely remember South Park referencing the movie specifically Cartman playing with his toys.

"He's like Elon Musk except somehow douchier." Thomas Edison then? lol Ok but, as much as I hate this movie, Sir Kenneth Branagh is so good. I don't know if he realized how shit the movie was going to be and decided to ham it up, but I love it. The only reason why I would consider watching this again.

Fun fact: Although a box-office flop in the U.S. (it managed to make a profit internationally), it’s commonly joked that the only reason this film made any money at all is because unaccompanied minors bought tickets to this movie, then used them to sneak into screenings of American Pie and South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.

That's not accurate. Reported production budgets from Hollywood don't include promotional costs.

Bru, it's not a trumpet on the guys ear it's a hearing horn! An old timey hearing aide often used by veterans because the noise from canons and muskets would permanently damage their hearing.

7:48 I can answer your questions. 1. The collars snapped on, they didn't squeeze their heads through them. 2. The reason they attract to each other is because Gordon bashes Jim'swith a rock, magnetizing both their collars together.

I saw "Wild Wild West" with two older teenage girls in Bellingham, Washington when one of their moms insisted she bring me along. And it ended with a drawn-out dance sequence. Not my best memory. I also graduated high school in 99.

Will Smith also took the role because he was a huge fan of the original show. I honestly feel kind of bad for him. Imagine finding out that the dream role you had would turn out to be this mess.

The best defense against a 1860’s giant mechanical spider is wait for it to breakdown or collapse under it’s own weight in about 5 minutes max.

I know it is basically sci-fi and fiction but still in the human 19th century, and the know-how in medicine was not advanced enough for the villain to survive. Neurosurgery simply did not exist, regardless of the mad scientist inventions you see in the movie.

Kevin Smith almost got roped into filming something like this.. when he went to direct a superman movie starring nic cage as superman that never happened apparently the same guy I forget his name that was a producer or whatever for this movie wanted Kevin Smith to make superman fight a big mechanical spider. The superman movie never happened but the spider did

I have a theory that the original script for this came out as a very dark civil war drama, and the studio mandated the comedic elements be added later. That would explain the tonal problems. Because if you strip out the comedy, what's left is a story about a Southern inventor who gave everything to the war only to be betrayed versus a Black army captain seeking revenge for the slaughter of a town of free Blacks.

I honestly think Baby Geniuses should have won worst movie of 1999, that movie is a crime against humanity. Wild Wild West was bad, but at least they tried and it had potential to be a good movie if they knew what they were doing, I cannot say the same about Baby Geniuses. I never saw the underground comedy (and I'll probably never will), but it seems like a very obscure film that hardly even matters, so I will still go with Baby Geniuses.

I'm apparently in the minority here but I love this movie. I have no attachment to the old show, it means nothing to me, so I just see this as a fun action movie with a great cast. Sure a lot of the plot doesn't really make sense but who cares, it's still enjoyable to watch.

Fun fact: the reason there were so many spider's in the movie was because the director of the movie loved spider's. I honestly loved this film as a teen and laughed my ass of at most of it and I loved the tv show it was loosely based on. This holds a special place in my heart ❤️ also I love your channel!! 💕

TV in the sixties did feature Native Americans in appropriate roles when they could, but the number of Native American actors at the time was extremely small; often Mexican actors would play such roles, or actors of Latin descent. If you were watching TV in the sixties, you took this for granted, and quite a few white American actors who had a "craggy" or "moody" appearance were believed by some viewers to actually be Native Americans (especially when these programmes were shown in the UK). And don't forget, TV shows are made under incredibly time constraints, so when guys turn up at the audition who look like they can do the part, they get the part. It's not about making decisions for artistic reasons, but for pragmatic ones.

It was a spider because Jon Peters, who was an executive producer, was developing a Superman movie before this one and wanted Superman to fight a giant spider in the third act. But that movie never got made, so that awesome idea had to go somewhere...

This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Rewatching it now as an adult, I can admit it's not great, but I still really enjoy it. It's a guilty pleasure for me. I also like it better than The Matrix, which I find to be overrated. Dark City did it better.
