Such a dope ride. I was all about getting one but that trans makes me want to stay with a Pro R.

The software updates since we filmed this video have made a huge improvements. I can’t wait for the snow to melt in the San Juan mountains to replicate this test

Thanks so much for sharing your adventure on Cinnamon Pass. I have really been thinking about getting a Ranger 1500, but the more I see, the more second thoughts I am starting to have...

Thank you! It’s a great machine and like all new models it comes with issues. The aftermarket is catching up and making it better. We will be doing some aftermarket ecm tuning to improve the transmission. Since we’ve gone on this trip Polaris has released several updates which have improved the Offroad drivability.

Last Summer we ran into a couple at the bottom of Corkscrew west side, they had a Polaris just like yours and had the same problem that you have! they just got it out of the shop up there somewhere and they followed us to the Alpine loop! there is a Polaris dealer in Lake City owners name is Jeff, nice people ! hope they get your trans problem solved!!!!!!

Yeah we’ve had ours in the shop 3 times and it keeps getting better. This last trip to the dealer has made the largest improvements on its low end

What was the problem with getting up that small ledge it looked northing why did struggle?
@505Outsiders

So the early tcm tunning from Polaris had a huge protective factor on it. The minute you tried to load the engine it would just slip the clutches. Since then we’ve had a couple updates and the performance has improved greatly. If you watch the video we released today you can see it no longer struggles on obstacles like the one in this video.

Then you should a big downside to your sweet ride. Just got so bummed 😮 Hope Polaris makes it right with all other people that spent 50,000 on these rigs !😢

Thank you and yeah it sucks but that’s why we wanted to get one of the first ones. We wanted to see what worked and what didn’t. And then ultimately fix those problems and share our results.

They have made improvements. I haven’t had a chance to really test it since the latest update in November. Preliminary test show that it’s promising.

The tires change the gear ratios and overwork the trans...it's not about load or pulling power.
@505Outsiders
@505Outsiders 18 күн бұрын
True but the tires still work as a load against the transmission similar way that truck oem’s test load with wind resistance trailers verses weight only

Depends on what mode you have it it. I can get all 4 wheels spinning on stuff like that. People who get rid of them are the ones who don't understand the transmission and how to work it. I shift mine in and out of modes as I drive 30 plus times per trip.
@505Outsiders
@505Outsiders Ай бұрын
I know how to drive it. This transmission has no low end. Polaris even says that and why they came out with their own video on it and how to use “Torque Boost” aka, pin it to the floor. We just got it back from another round of software updates so we will try it again.
@johnmalecha666
@johnmalecha666 Ай бұрын
@@505Outsiders part of the idea of torque boost is to "pin it" before you are in a situation of where your tires will not spin. I believe your second or third attempt where you rolled back some is the proper way.
@505Outsiders
@505Outsiders Ай бұрын
If you do that, the steel belt takes the load and not the wet clutch. That doesn’t help people in tough situations.
@johnmalecha666
@johnmalecha666 Ай бұрын
@@505Outsiders true, but doing it the way you did isn't torque boost, and I think you could burn the clutch(s) up doing it too much.

Why not put it in low range
@505Outsiders
@505Outsiders Ай бұрын
The 1500’s don’t have a low range. They have tow/ haul mode which acts like “low range” but it uses a wet clutch pack for that.
