I'm surprised he want to go stiffer spring for the z34 due to roll.. either increase dampers so it slows it down or bigger roll bar. You can still have a pretty comfortable street car with soft spring and big roll bars.
@johnnypolex2 жыл бұрын
Guessing maybe stiffer sway bars reduce stroke for bumpy tracks so it might hurt stability over gaps and undulations. And stiffer shocks might not fix extra roll in sweepers due to the time spent in the corner. Generally, stickier tires or aero require more spring.

Tsuchiya looks like he's really struggling with rear end grip this time, I think the tires were shot by the time the finals started. I've never seen his 86 snap oversteer like this several times, It got to a point where he looked like he was just fighting the rear end
@TakumiJoyconBoyz2 жыл бұрын
They also might have made the suspension too right in the rear.
@zerohikari26852 жыл бұрын
The 86 needs aero. It has for a very long time. You can't modify the rear alignment of the car because of the solid rear axle so he can't get increased camber for rear cornering traction like S2K and the Z. The way you have to do it is with downforce but Tsuchiya will never put a GT Wing on the AE86

Is the s2k downshifting without rev matching? How does that work? Is it some technique where it's fine as long as it's done correctly (during lift-off from WOT)?
@Flameb02 жыл бұрын
you don't always have to rev match to downshift, so i'm not sure what you mean. like you can clutch brake to downshift without matching revs
@ayowser012 жыл бұрын
@@Flameb0 I rev match every downshift, unless it's a slow roll from 3rd to 2nd and I'm coming close to stopping. It's just added safety; better to burn the clutch prematurely, than potentially damage syncros or gears.
@totolasti2 жыл бұрын
@@ayowser01 I guess he can downshift without rev-matching because he changed his clutch for a race-grade one. This kind of clutch isn't smooth at all but they're very tolerant to being abused

I've crashed my 370z Nismo twice because of frequent stock ABS malfunctions. Unfortunately it's a thing for this car. I was very close to selling my 370z because I couldn't figure how to fix the ABS, until I've found a solution in bespoke race flashed ABS (Teves MK60E1). I did full ABS swap and now everything is working beautifull. Additionally to Teves being faultless, stopping power and trail breaking capabilities are on the different level. I think this and much more expensive Bosch, are the only ways to really deal with that problem. I hope the issue is dealt with in the new Z, but to be honest I really doubt it, since it shares so many parts with the old one, including the brakes.

Apologies if I missed it, but how much power does the Toda s2000 engine produce? Is it higher than factory compression? Thanks!
@moustachio3342 жыл бұрын
It’s depends Toda has two different sets of pistons. I imagine he’s using 12.1-3 CR. Probably 280-290hp at the crank if it’s C spec cams, lighter internals, high CR, headers and exhaust, head porting and smooth. If it’s a stroker kit then 300-15hp is possible.
