Very nice approach to landing tutorial ! I had flown earlier versions of X-Plane (v9) years ago and liked them. Working with switches on the panel are fairly easy. As for flight dynamics, certain things appear to be more pronounced than previous versions. The left hand turning tendency is more evident (even in calm wind conditions). Not a problem, however, I just anticipate it . Also, on higher performance planes, the rudder and pitch controls are sensitive. I had experimented with different curves but one loses control effectiveness as a result. Usually, I'll just go back to linier curves and use a lighter touch on those inputs. The main thing I'm liking is the more useful navigation charts. They don't have all of the information that a real sectional or low chart has but, it's decent enough to compare to a paper chart or a digital one found on Sky Vector.

That is called P factor and it is corrected with either aileron or rudder trim as in any airplane. Planes like the Cessna 150 only has elevator trim, aileron and rudder trim are ground adjustable. Also the vertical stabilizer are off set to counter P factor. As for the curves I give from the left lower corner about half way to the 1 for a slight dead spot so the controls are not so sensitive on the controller. Just takes some experimenting. Happy flights

In real life the SR22 is flown 40% power no flaps downwind. Abeam the end of the runway reduce power the 30% flaps 50. 45 degrees to the runway turn . Base leg flaps full. Final 80-85 Kts , power as required. You don’t use a timer in the pattern. All visual.
@sixtiethofasecond13 күн бұрын
Depends on pitch attitude - I'm about 30% 2.5% down to achieve 100KAIS but depends on your aircraft. Trim on final too at full flap

Hi I am running X-Plane 12 and I am unable to activate he wings level blue button in the Cirrus SR22. Could you point me in the right direction to finding a solution
@ivaniuk123 Жыл бұрын
In the cirrus don't you want to go full rich on landing because the cirrus has an altitude compensating fuel pump?
@lukebelvin49002 жыл бұрын
In my SR22 my CSIP taught me 100 KIAS downwind flaps 50 abeam the numbers Base turn wings level flaps 100% 90 KIAS Final 80 KIAS
@PilotLH Жыл бұрын
Would you not also adjust the mixture to full rich once you are clear of the runway after landing as you do in the initial taxi procedure before takeoff?
@janvogel9719 Жыл бұрын
In theory the mixture should always be leaned to the appropriate density altitude - so no need to adjust it after landing (it should be leaned correctly for approach).
@PilotLH Жыл бұрын
@@janvogel9719 I’ve just seen in some checklists that you sometimes lean an aircraft to full rich after vacating runway.. I assume to not have too much or to reduce power for ‘low idle’ taxiing but don’t shoot the messenger!
@janvogel9719 Жыл бұрын
@@PilotLH I am sorry if you felt shot! I did not see the procedure you mentioned in the official POH of the SR22 as issued by Cirrus, if you have other information or would like to enrich your mixture after landing, absolutely, be my guest!

You can´t - the second window (PiP) is a feature of the video editing. But you can switch back and forth between views really quick with custom saved views.

One can do however they feel, but you will never use FLC for the descent. Use VS with throttle to set the speed in order to precisely maintain a desired profile
@janvogel9719 Жыл бұрын
Certainly a matter of technique - I think I explained why I think FLC is a safer mode than V/S
@diflyboy906311 ай бұрын
It’s the difference between flight stimming and actual flying. I use FLC in stimming to nail the airspeed on approach but in real life flying I always use VS for a standard rate decent and manage airspeed with throttle.

WHEN WILL LAMINAR MAKE TERRAFORMING POSSIBLE DEVELOPERS, THE TERRAIN IS ALWAYS INACCURATE AND DEVELOPERS CANT EVEN FIX IT OURSELVES. DONT WHY THIS ISNT BEING PRIORITIZED. IT'S THE SIGNLE REASON XPLANE 12 SCENERY IS SO SCARCE. MOST AIRPORACE HAVE UNIQUE TERRAIN FEATURES THAT CAN'T BE DONE TO XPLANE TERRAIN!

definetely not a VFR pilot :) imagine playing around with garmin gadgets in a conjested real life NYC traffic scenario, crossing 2 of the world's busiest airport sectors :)) i missed all the vac-chart work, atc n stuff to reflect the actual challenge. Havn't noticed any AI-traffic, i was hoping xp12 would feature that. but nice video otherwise, thank you for your work.
@4steroid2 жыл бұрын
XP12 has ai traffic. You need to configure it in aircraft selection menu.
@piloto_loco2 жыл бұрын
@@4steroid you are refering to single a.i.-aircraft being added to the one chosen to fly, but i was talking about all dense global traffic network as they were provided by third party developers during the xp11 era. It was expected laminar would provide such as inclusive now, which seems not the case. such add-ons cost 60 dollars or more. 2 suppliers are known: jar design and some other.
@medwaystudios Жыл бұрын
@@piloto_loco world traffic was 25usd during the recent sale.
@piloto_loco Жыл бұрын
@@medwaystudios ok thanks. i already have jar's traffic add-on in xp11 so i could take it over to xp12 i guess. But these add-ons don't have vfr traffic or mil traffic, which was a bit discussion on laminar's suggestion forum for xp12. that is what i was refering to in my initial post. let's say you are flying military planes or helicopters, you probably would hang around military airbases, right? thing is, they are dead, no traffic add-on will bring traffic into military bases. but this is only one example. there is also seaplane bases, cargo bases, helicopter bases, etc.etc., all that is what i expected to be implemented in xp12, based on the community's wishlist from last year. Anyway, i now understand that xp12 has not really made big progress, it's a basic catch up in terms of world design, the rest is xpl 11.6.

You may have missed that this was shot in X-Plane 12, a home desktop flight simulator. In addition, no AI-aircraft were set up. @XPlaneOffical, what do you set your sensitivity settings for pitch, (2 numbers), I have a CH yoke on the way, because it got too hard, to lightly control on the Logitech yoke, they seem to have a major problem on pitch, according to many forums, also what sensitivity settings do you use for rudder pedals, it seems impossible to get the yaw, from going all over the place, even a low speeds , before take-off. can you make a video, on what you use?
