I tried to respect 'cis' for the sake of trying to even things out between the two groups, but cis isn't respected. It's definitely a pejorative term coming from a lot of people, it's reductive and they try to assume your struggles with gender, and once grindr made it clear that the reason they removed the ability to filter for cis men was because "transmen are men," clearly the differences are not respected, and they have a problem with you seeing the differences. Cis is obsolete for me.

RE 1:30ish: The response to you (TikToker) “repainting your car” may be so negative because you’re not just repainting your car. In order to repaint the car, they also have to permanently tear out your air conditioning, and there’s a good chance that the engine is going to make a loud crunching sound every 5 seconds whenever its in use for the rest of your life. Also, there will probably still be a lot of red showing beneath the blue paint, and if you don’t like the way that looks, it will not be possible paint it back to red. And you have to drive this car until you die. Does it make a little more sense, then, why people would keep checking in to make sure you’ve thought this through?

I can't wrap my head around asexual because it sounds like you just don't like sex. I don't think that is specifically an identity. Some people just don't enjoy it. I'm sure it makes dating hard because physical intimacy is something relationships usually need to grow. Whether it's procreation or just feeling closer to that person, it does really limit the choices you will have. I'm not going to force you to do something you don't want to do, but hopefully, through therapy, you are able to find a way to have that intimacy.

So when it comes to asexual people, they can date. They still crave emotional intimacy, they like kissing, hugging and holding hands, just not sex. I have preferances when it comes to gender tho, but i'm what's called a homoromantic person, which means i am attracted and will date girls. Asexuality is not about "not wanting to have sex". Asexuality is lack of sexual attraction to people. I agree that it's not a sexuality in a similar way atheism is not a religion. But it does not mean "does not want to have sex" or "does not have libido" (although many asexuals have a lower libido than non-asexuals). Asexuals can have sex if they want to. Anyone can have sex with a person they are not sexually attracted to, including asexuals. Being asexual also doesn't mean that you can't fall in love or don't want to have a relationship. To put it very simply: Straight people feel sexual attraction to the opposite sex. Gay people to the same sex. Asexuals do not feel it towards anyone.

I'm an asexual and I agree with all of this. For my entire life I have been very romantic, and I've always desired to get married, but I've never ever felt an ounce of attraction to the concept or the need for sex. I simply do not feel that kind of attraction, and I have never been through any trauma to make me this way. It makes dating hard because society is so hyper-sexual these days, but I stand firmly in the belief that you CAN be romantically in love with someone without a sexual aspect to it. I'm not sure how people aren't able to understand that, as I've had multiple people act like I shouldn't even want to be in a relationship at all. To me, hand-holding, dates, and kissing are all non-sexual shows of romantic attraction, but what do I know...

as always I agree with what you said, but asexual just means you don't feel sexual attraction. It bothers me when people claim it's just not having a sex drive :/ it's like when you ask a gay man why he isn't attracted to women and he says ''eh doesn't do anything for me visually'' he could still hae sex with a woman because the body reacts even if you visually don't find the body sexy.. asexual doesn't mean you don't have sex.. it can coexist because if you don't fnd anyone sexually attractive you often don't need to have sex.. but there are enough asexuals with existing libido that have sex.. sometimes they prefer men or sometimes they prefer women.. libido does not an orientation make :(

I am 30 years old never been in a relationship or had sex with anyone and I probably never will. I just lack all desire to seek out a romantic or sexual relationship. I've only ever wanted to date one guy but when I thought about having sex with him my brain went i don't want that. The closest I've felt to sexual attraction was with a different guy and all I thought about doing was touching his penis nothing more than that. However with me I do know it is a disassocitive issue because I do have a ton of sexual fantasies I just never included myself in any of them. Ultimately just like a gay person can't force themselves to be straight I can't force my brain to include myself in those fantasies or to want to have sex with anyone.

What is it with people coming for Asexuals suddenly? Excuse you? Just because someone is Asexual doesn’t mean they’re undeserving of love. Sex doesn’t equal love. Love doesn’t equal sex. Sex is only one facet of a relationship, Marcus. I can’t speak to anyone else but my husband and I are Asexual due to sexual trauma in our past making sex impossible for either of us. Cause y’know being raped tends to screw up how you view a lot of things regarding sex and bodily image. Asexuality may not be a sexual orientation but it doesn’t mean you can’t date and it doesn’t remove the purpose for dating. I may not agree with all this trans crap but I’ll be damned if I sit here and listen to people say that just because someone is asexual it means they cannot date or there is no purpose to them dating.

An asexual dating someone with a sex drive will leave someone frustrated, leading to infidelity and/or a breakup. When an asexual dates, they need to be certain to date another asexual, or else be prepared for an unhappy partnership.

Most times that's gonna be an issue with your partner. The act of sex is about connecting for most people rather if they say it or not. if you are asexual just make sure your partner knows that, cuz some of yall be lying, and then wanna act surprised when things don't work out, no offense.

He said it's not a sexuality. You just agreed. Why get angry? We need to stop being so quick to judge what others say based on purely personal circumstances. Nor should anyone who wants to make an obvious generalisation have to list a load of disclaimers and qualifiers before they speak. I notice it's a thing many Americans do before giving an opinion. Most of us don't have the time or energy to police our every word.

@@tkps While I don't agree with word-policing or people having to tiptoe around their words to avoid offending others, I completely understand why the comments in this video regarding assexuality would rub somebody the wrong way. Assexuality is NOT a sexuality, so that's a reasonable thing to say, but I'm thinking the comment that this person is irritated about is the suggestion that there is no point in dating if you're assexual. Assexuals still often desire companionship, loyalty, emotional security, and may want to build families. And it's quite alienating to be in the position of having emotional needs or life goals that would typically be met in the context of a romantic relationship, while lacking the sexual interest that is typically required in that kind of dynamic. The comments in this video and the tone he has when he says them seem a bit dismissive of that and slightly insulting IMO, although it may be unintentional.

If we stick to the car analogy that the first guy insists on. It'd be more like being stuck with a red car that runs on gas while you'd much rather have a blue car that runs on electricity. So, you'll have to completely reconfigure this red car inside and out and I doubt the result would be a car that actually functions like it is supposed to. But I'm no expert.

Thanks for the quality content, it's always a treat to watch a new upload from you, Marcus. I usually find myself agreeing with your position, and I do for the majority of this video, too. Apart from the first clip. I mean, the person did look comfortable living as a man, and there's no hard rule that gender dysphoria is the single excusive case when transition can improve someone's quality of life. Personally, I only have a big issue with transitioning when people regret it and realize that it was a mistake, usually when it's too late for them, and especially when they were rushed or even pressured into it way too young. But if an adult person feels right in their new skin, does it matter why they made the choice? And for the record, being asexual does not automatically mean that the person doesn't want to find a loving relationship, but it is true that the dating pool is microscopic. Not all ace people are aromantic as well, and dating is not necessarily limited to the horizontal mambo, either. Hey, crazy Tiktok asexuals do not represent us any better than Tiktok "trans" clowns represent you. :)

@@Draco19970125 In fact, it's never the same skin, as the cells of the body keep replicating themselves constantly, and skin is one of the fastest to get replaced completely. You can find a good part of your old skin in a thin layer on your shelves and the top of your telly. And of course people can transition into the opposite sex, it just doesn't mean they change their sex, only their appearance. Have you ever asked your friends or family if they liked your new hair? As someone who has suffered from gender dysphoria for 5 years (since I was 9) Marcus does a really good job of explaining it. Gender dysphoria is something that you don't choose to have, and everyone who genuinley has it doesn't want it and would rather be comfortable in their own gender then have to pay thousands of dollars to reduce the regularity in which we are reminded of their biological sex. I dress in a masculine way and have short hair, and just because of that many people see me and see a guy. I have a great hatred for the feminine parts of my body and being reminded I am female only makes my gender dysphoria worsen. I am hoping that by 18 my gender dysphoria will have reduced or even disappeared like it does for other childhood onset gender dysphoria patients. Thank you Marcus for being a voice for people who actually suffer from gender dysphoria.
