TNRVG Fishing

TNRVG Fishing

7 жыл бұрын

Finally got out to one of my trophy spots with a friend and caught a trophy blue catfish!
I called up my friend Derek of the "Yeah Derek" motorcycle vlog channel to see if he wanted to come fishing at one of my good trophy catfish spots. He said sure and we met up at the spot. The weather was a little cool as it was the start of fall and the water was down enough to give plenty of room to fish from the bank. This spot is a catfish freeway where they swim by looking for food or swim out back to the main Tennessee River when they are full. The channel is a good ways out so having good casting gear usually gives a better chance of catching fish. That is why the 9 foot Whisker Seeker caught the fish!
Don't forget to 👍 the video and share it with friends! Please check out my channel's Community tab and About tab. I post channel updates, useful information, and lots of fish pictures on both! Thank you for watching!

Dude solid advice. I set a cheap rod down last week on a fishing trip. I looked away for one second and a smallmouth grabbed it, pulled it off the boat and smashing the cheap plastic to bits. Don't go for big fish with cheap plastic

Nothing beats the whir of a casting reel... Except maybe the whisk sound on a spinning setup. Either way... Mmmmmmmm HEY! I just noticed we have the same tackle bag. I love that thing to death. Wow those were some great take downs! I always leave the clicker on with spool open and once I get one running I lock it down and once I feel he's on there I reel down! Of course that's cause I use circle hooks but imo it gives them more time to actually take all the bait in their mouth! Cool video man
@TNRVG
@TNRVG 7 жыл бұрын

Heres a trick you can try so you dont get so many misses. Once you have your bait where you want it in the water reduce your drag. If you get a bite you can hold your reel to set the hook then tighten the drag back once the hook is set. Alot of Cats will drop the bait when they feel resistance so reducing drag lets them take the bait better. I listen for line being taken off my reel by the noise the reel makes. Anyway its a method you can try.
@TNRVG
@TNRVG 7 жыл бұрын
+Jeromy Richter Thanks. I have used the bait clickers and get more misses. I have considered using double hook rigs to see if that gets.mr.more hookups.
@BigRedRIP
@BigRedRIP 5 жыл бұрын
As hard as those hits were, the bait more than likely pulled out of their mouth. Not all cats inhale it, some will grab it and swim while they take a 2nd chomp. If the line tightens it can pull right out before they hook. Small nibble bites can be due to line sensitivity, but these grab n go bites are probably due to pull outs. Especially if this is a swim channel area where they travel to and fro, like he mentioned. One way to fix this is to add an extra long bait leader (say 3 feet). That's not normal, but I've used this in high movement areas and caught more quick strikes.

Panfish okay cool I was wondering because penn just released the fathom 2 levelwind and I just was wondering what your thoughts about that reel are. I fish the tail waters of the licking river where it dumps into the Ohio. I recently bought the Penn slammer 3 and it is by far the best reel I’ve seen or used but I just need something with a bait runner. I was looking at the Abu Garcia 7000 catfish special but the 7000s are made in China and Abu really just doesn’t have enough drag pressure.
