That, but what got me the most was "You've had millions of reasons to bend and to break, but you're still alive and that's not a mistake. The war in your head tells a story that's still worth believing, because you're still breathing." That hit me the most I think because of my attempts with suicide in the past because I have terrible seizures literally every day and night. Bad ones. Chose to end my life one day when I was finally home alone. Was taking one last joint when magically, "Would Anyone Care" starts playing on my phone and I just break down. The words...the words I need to here in those moments. I'm 29 and still live with my parents because of my epilepsy. I can't go a day without a seizure and always need help. Makes me feel like a burden and more. Jake and all of CS are a Godsend. They have saved my life twice from suicide when songs just start playing at the moments they're needed. I'm not a man of God like some others are, but that's the closest to magick or some sign that ive ever come across in my life. Kyle, the drummer and artist even drew me up a Phoenix tattoo happily when the band heard of my story and the years I've suffered from them. Literally no life outside the house.

@@CitizenSoldier a Dear friend (who I look at more as family than just a friend) sent this to me tonight through Fb DM. She knows I am going through so very much, that I am just about to say screw it and leave this life even though I would be leaving the 3 grands I love the most (even though they have been told I don't love or want to be around them by daughters boyfriend who is abusive to me as well). Anyway, I've listened to this song 4x already and it gave me the message that I AM HERE FOR A REASON, THINGS WILL IMPROVE, AND SINCE GOD STILL IS LETTING ME BREATH, I DO HAVE A REASON TO PUSH FORWARD. Thank you for this one, Citizen Soldier. As I suffer with depression and a personality disorder that left me with severe self-hatred, I always found it truly difficult to see anything in a better light. 15 years of this struggle and I'm tired of it. Deep inside of me, something wants to keep on living. It's the only thing resisting what I call the "Liar in My Head" and its malicious words that put me down. However, I still struggle with doubt that shatters the confidence that I do successfully build. These words of confidence alongside the ones from your song "Irreplaceable" give me the strength to rebuild what I lose every day in my most depressing moments. I'll use them to give me the courage to say no to the Liar in My Head and deny it. I'm still breathing. I'm still alive and surviving into the next day and that is an accomplishment in its own right, especially for someone like me that possessed no hope in living. So, I'll keep on going. I'll keep on breathing into the next day and beyond. Here's to the success of my goals of becoming a novelist coming true.

When I heard the first lines of this song in the teaser, I knew this would be special. As someone who several years ago held a gun to his head, there is nothing more special than what this song conveys. I have listened to many of Citizen Soldier's songs, have a t-shirt, but never commented on a song until now. I was a victim of emotional abuse and it nearly killed me. If you are struggling in any way, please listen to this song and find the help you deserve. You are important, you are valid, and you are still breathing. Much love to those who continue to give us this music we can relate to and heal with. You are truly amazing and I am grateful for this music!

There was this 14 year old that butchered her skin and hair. Abused herself mentally and physically. I took notice of the little signs because the girl was quite good at hiding things. I enjoy making people smile and laugh. Life is too short to be unhappy. Became friends with this little girl and got her to open up to me. She didn’t have any friends and her father constantly yelled at her for little to no reason. Her mom did drigs and was a psycho. Things fell between my sister and the teens dad. A year later I saw the sweet girl at a Xmas party. The sweetheart cried and would not remove herself from my hug. My present was her telling me I saved her life. I had stopped her from killing herself and stop harming herself. My words of wisdom had been taken to heart and the young one has made a complete 180. This song makes me think of that. Makes me think of the friends I’ve lost. The thoughts I held in and sadness of not being able to help them. Makes me think of my own thoughts I push aside. Thank you for such another wonderful song CS. Thank you.

'Still Breathing' lyrics: I'll never know your pain, I've never walked in your shoes I know your life ain't fair, I know it's damn near killed you You've been through hell, you blame yourself, a painful past you can't forgive You had no help but time will tell if it's a curse or it's a gift But if you're still breathing, breathing You made it through your darkest days If your heart's still beating, beating Then you are gonna be okay You've had millions of reasons to bend and to break But you're still alive and that's not a mistake The war in your head tells a story that's still Worth believing, 'cause you're still breathing 'Cause you're still breathing 'Cause you're still breathing If you've been up all night thinking it won't get better No need to wear your scars like a scarlet letter You're on the ledge but not the end, it helped you see another way A broken heart, a brand new start, tomorrow everything could change 'Cause if you're still breathing, breathing You made it through your darkest days If your heart's still beating, beating Then you are gonna be okay You've had millions of reasons to bend and to break But you're still alive and that's not a mistake The war in your head tells a story that's still Worth believing, 'cause you're still breathing You're alive, you survived It's a sign and the proof is in your pulse Brighter stars only shine in the dark You are stronger than you know You are stronger than you know You are stronger than you know So if you're still breathing, breathing (you're still breathing) You made it through your darkest days If your heart's still beating, beating (your heart's still beating) Then you're gonna be okay You've had millions of reasons to bend and to break (you're not dead) But you're still alive and that's not a mistake The war in your head tells a story that's still Worth believing, 'cause you're still breathing

"No need to wear your scars like a scarlet letter" This hits home for me. I have and still struggle with self-harm. But this song makes me feel proud to still be breathing. At 16 years old I faced things I hope no one ever has to. I have taken abuse to spare people I love from it. Share this song with those who are hurting. It's a life changer.

This song is definitely going to be sent to my best friend. We’ve both gone through hell. But he’s been going through abuse from his dad. I haven’t gone through physical abuse. Only emotional. But we’ve been there for each other. He was really close to giving up a few weeks ago. I was there for him to vent. He stayed, because of me. Another great song! 💜💙

Keep up this colletion of masterpieces. part 1 was good already but i think Part 2 will outshine it by far.

I don’t know why but I always cry when I listen to their songs. It maybe because it forms feelings into words. Although I don’t have life as hard in this song it still reflects some of what I feel and that’s why I love citizen soldier.

This song helped me so much over the last 10 days. My connective tissue disorder flared . I woke up on Saturday in so much pain, everywhere. And then it got worse on Sunday. And then I had to go to work with it - my employee was on vacation so I couldn't stay home. I had an earbud in all week at work to help distract me from the pain and the fear and the rage that my body did this to me and the embarrassment of having to use a crutch at work. And every time I got upset, I put this song on, took a deep breath and kept on going. And at night a few times there were others that let me wallow in my sorrow and cry it out. I've had more intense pain more often than my mind will allow me to remember. But this was just 10 days of unending pain. Not being able to walk at more than a snails pace. Muscles spasming. Gripping my steering wheel hurt. Random nerve pain shooting down my arm. Add on the sore achilles tendon from moving my ankle wrong and the back pain because i lifted my work bag wrong. And even worse than all the pain was the fear that maybe this wasn't a temporary thing. Maybe I moved wrong in my sleep and this time it wasn't just a herniated disc. Maybe this was somehow my new normal. Maybe it was another surgery - which is terrifying because painkillers don't work well for me and surgeries have a high rate of failure for people woth my disorder. In those 10 days, the worst part was the isolation, having no one to talk to about it. My husband isn't good at just listening and empathizing, he just wants it fixed - and there was no fixing this, so he just left me alone in the bedroom and took care of the kids. Some people at work asked me how I was feeling and it was obvious what they expected me to say, so I minimized it and joked about it. One person at work expressed true concern, and I almost cried when I could finally let someone know even a fraction of what I was going through. Music is therapy. Music is distraction for the mind. Music is inspiration. Music is the only way I made it through five days of work last week. Music is a release, as shown by the empty box of tissues by my bed. I finally started getting better this weekend. I'm nowhere near my version of normal, and I'm still terrified that I'm never getting back there. I've never had a flare this long or that intense. But, at the end of each day, I was still breathing. And today, I'm doing more than just breathing. Just not breathing too deeply because the stupid back spasm is still there...

Lord Jesus during my countless seasons of extreme depression and despondency I have asked you for relief and healing. Your ways are higher than mine. There is a purpose in my pain, yet I constantly rehearse my demise because sometimes my suffering is too intense. Please forgive me for my sins and don’t allow my words to fuel someone else’s desire to leave this life. I thank you and praise you that I am not alone (even though it feels like it). I pray that each person who is struggling from any affliction (s) will cry out to you and that you would respond in a way that they would recognize that you are real and that you are a strong tower and a refuge. Thank you for not allowing me to harm myself. Help me to accept your will and not pursue mine..I love you Lord Jesus. To those who are reading this know that you are loved. Even if your belief is not in the God of the Bible, my prayer is that you will endure and make it through all of your hardships triumphantly🧗‍♂️❤️‍🩹🙏🏾

I love you guys. I'm proud if you guys and I'm proud of everyone reading this message. 6 to 7 years ago, I almost made a choice that would of been permanent. I have felt guilty for feeling that way and for almost doing it. Your music is what has been helping cope and deal with what I still feel inside. My best friend (like a sibling to me) passed away last September, due to losing a battle with their mental health. I felt lost and numb when I found out. I've listened to your music to help me. Thank you for being there! I still have moments where it's a close call, but I'm still here! I love you all!

3:42am and hearing this for the first time, This sounds like me to the fullest, I am so shattered inside and always falling scars cover my wrist but I fight on for the love that is in my heart as big as it is, I am single now and finally got out of the 12 year abusive relationship I was in, All though I have tried day in and night out to share the love I have and help others the darkest truth is, As I help them rise I am falling further and further... I always put others first and for so long did the wrong things at one point, Living on today so broken and yet still trying to make others happy and lift them from their pains and sorrows, I only wonder why I am 32 now and still feeling like it would be easier to just throw the fight forever so I don't get hurt or suffer anymore in this world, However my heart will go on and I will continue onwards in hopes one day someone amazing will come into my life and everything will change, they will help me rise and become a better person as I already aim to do so each day, As the tears fall and the pain swells inside I will try to hold my head high and keep fighting onwards no matter how long it takes, I am working on lyrics but I... Don't know how to go about getting them looked at even and maybe making them better and better... I would wish someday I could sing or write for others... So that my lyrics can touch the hearts of people every where to help them understand pain more deeply and rise above it even bettering the.selves and knowing just how much they are precious in this world, Just as you do Citizen Soldiers... ^-^

An amazing person sent me this song, what a masterpiece of a song. "You are still alive and that's not a mistake", as a christian, it makes me happy that the lyric is like that. I can not imagine a life without Him. And without family, now this amazing person who sent me this and for who she is, and my recent blessings, I would be down in a bad depression. Really nice, and a good reminder that "If you are still alive, it's not a mistake"
