I look forward to every song being released, but this one hit me so much harder than I ever would have anticipated. This couldn't have been released at a better time. My depression just relapsed and I felt every word of this song because God, sometimes I really do just feel unwanted because I can never seem to be good enough for my mother and it hurts so bad. This was one of the biggest problems when my depression was at its worst: feeling lonely even when you're not alone. I consider myself lucky that I didn't have to deal with bullies growing up like many do, but at the same time what could anyone say to me that I hadn't already heard from myself? But anyways, I was well liked enough by people. I had my group of friends throughout middle and high school, we hung out at breakfast and lunch, and I knew they cared about me and loved me - and still do. But imagine sitting at a table surrounded by people you love and that love you, yet still feeling like the only person sitting at the table...

I was the same. Most of my highschool days would be spent feeling like I was an imposter among them. I'd laugh and talk about small things, but when I got back home, I would feel so alone, so worthless. I would wonder why no one noticed I was sad, and thought it was because they didn't really care about me. I would cry at night and smile during the day. That lasted about 5 years, 5 long years. It's been 10 years since I started feeling better, but I still relapse sometimes, though not as hard or as long. These songs make me so nostalgic and melancholic. I strangely find comfort in that sadness.

This is a message for people suffering as described by the lyrics of the song. Depression is just another obstacle in life. Whether it be a large boulder blocking your path through a canyon, or the demons in your head. There are always ways to get through. Time is never ending. Take all the time you need. But also, there will be the time where you meet someone that helps you out. Always. I was amongst the people with depression until 3 years ago. But it wasn’t nearly as horrible as the positions other people were in. After my case, I grew into who I am now - putting my sincere heart into this message so the people who are suffering can hear what I'm saying. It truly will go away. All the pain and misery, the darkness and the void. Just keep tugging onto that glimmer of hope that someone will walk up to you, ask what’s going on, and sit down next to you and listen to you. I'm glad that when I got out of depression, it made me empathetic, open-minded, forgiving and sincere. But all of that came from my choice of wanting to get out of my depression, looking for that one person who would listen, and finally relieving myself of such demonic thoughts. It’s a miracle that happens, either by looking yourself or waiting for someone looking for you. I found this quote: “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.“ Truly, it is a sentence worth a heartfelt meaning for people. Don’t give up just yet. There is somebody out there who will sit down next to you just to listen to you and help you. I send my virtual hug to you and everyone else reading this. Keep hanging in there and take care. ❤️
