Now, as a long time KDM fan, and I own a modded bk2 3.8 Genesis coupe, a 23 Cyber Grey Elantra N, and my wife has a Kia Optima , but I would not trade in a Type R for a Elantra N. Nope. The Elantra N was my choice mainly due to value for performance .The Type R just has too much mark up around here.

I traded my Porsche for a FL5. Thats how good the Type R is. The Elantra N is a great bang for the buck, dealers who mark up, dont understand this. Those who think im nuts, i traded my 99 Cobra in on a 00 civic Si , which started my affinity with Honda, so i can kinda see going with an N from a Type R, but you shouldve driven the FL5, its amazing.

@anthonyscott54846 ай бұрын
@@youcangetsum6871 the suspension tuning on a fl5 is hardly different than FK8.. literally. Same suspension and everything in between. Just the chassis and body are different on the fl5 with different suspension tuning and engine adjustments. Therefore in R mode FL5 is just as tough as fk8 is as a daily. In any other mode it rides good, but so does the N too. They're very similar. Where you'll feel the difference will be in the seats, it's subjective. The N is forgiving and gives a bit more play where the R seats are grippy and will lock you in but become very plush after a few hundred miles.

When you buy a Type R of that vintage you buy its problems. Overheating is an issue on that model year, if the car is tracked. Second gear grind is a pain too. Seats turn to mush, after some miles. It a good platform if you invest, but it takes money to build into a track car. The N's you put some fuel, tires, change your oil, and maybe brake fluids (race fluids for mega extended sessions), and you are set.

I mainly used it for canyon carving with the 600 - 1000cc bikes ;) Heck I'd rather have an Elantra N than an RS3, FL5 or M240i and pocket the difference. There's so much MOD aftermarket for the EN now time & tested and 'zip' for the 8Y :/ unless you want to go (blah) JB4 which doesn't work well with the DQ500. 1st - 2nd gear change is reckless temperamentally; unless you paddle it :) EN handles better than the 8Y as well (driver not included lol). M240i used and < 2020 (so you don't have to send your DME to the commies in Finland ;)) is cool with like a KLM BT setup but $$$ compared to the EN aftermarket cost.
