This was the Most useful Video on KZbin to learn to Play the Game. I got the Game and we tried to understand and Play it with the instructions which is very difficult to understand on its own. This helped so much. Thank you Guys!

Amazing expansion; looks very fun. As I watch the playthrough, though, you know what I find irritating? When Evan chooses one of his focus cards, he resets it and shifts all his cards BEFORE he resolves the one he selected. Makes it very hard to follow his turn because the card is now in the wrong place for what he's doing.

Since the base game and now the expansion I've been rolling for every interaction where a battle/destruction would take place making the game more exciting conflict wise. Eg: if a barbarian moves into the space of anything that would/could fight back (city, army and control token) if the defending piece wins then the attacker is rebuffed, if the defender loses then the piece is either flipped to unreinforced or destroyed/returned to owner. I think it adds a more 'realistic' and tangible aspect to the game rather than the idea that a barbarian token destroys something in an instant. (This works for ALL interactions where in real life the piece would try to defend itself, basically excluding traders/caravans-- can't wait to use this aspect of play with the army pieces)

Feedback: Please make a how to play video combining all the rules from the base game and the expansion! I've just introduced it to friends and its a LOT to explain, a video could help! Also unfortunately the new rule booklet doesn't include the old rules, so you are required to look back and forth between the two, which is awkward. Could those be combined?

Yeah, would be nice to have a whole new rule book that just assumes you didn't read the base game and just explains everything as if the expansion is just part of the base game.

Great job guys! The expansion is great! I really really liked the base game but it was just a tiny bit abstract to fully love it...this expansion brings the love! Military is fixed, exploration is awesome - new civs...fantastic! Now get to work on Outer rim 😉

26:53 The blue player is building a world wonder without paying the required resources in addition to the price of the wonder? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need to pay two different resources (indicated on the world wonder's card), in addition to the price, which in this case is 7?

no, the resourses shown in the wonder card are the ones you are alowed to expend to pay the price of the wonder (+2 for each strategic resource you use)

So could the players have used the single water hexes for filling in spaces that will not fit a newly explored map tile? This seems like something that would help the player using the Dutch.

in the base game this is only if the space is entirely enclosed. if there is even one gap on either 6 sides then its normally not filled in

I like Exploration in games but i'm wondering if players are trying to get as far away from other players now, over time. In the base game, you had to go into the direction of other players over time and confront them. Wondering how much this changes

You start closer to other players though, so the option of early aggression or trading is now there.

A way that I get around that is I create the core map, add the capitals, then remove the core map and put the tiles in the explore tiles pile, and have the same amount of space between capitals, so you would have to explore the core map in the middle before getting to the other capitals. Just make sure you don’t move your capital too much or just remember how many pieces are in between each capital so you don’t just have huge gaps in the map that can’t be connected

Hello guys. I'm not sure but I think that you cannot build a city without any catavan or token on a field. "You can build cities in empty spaces and spaces that contain a friendly control token or a caravan (from any player)." Am I right?

Are spaces with a barbarian token considered rival or friendly spaces for the purpose of performing district abilities? For example, a barbarian on a mountain space next to my campus district. Would I still get 1 trade token for that space even though a barbarian currently occupies that space?

I really enjoyed the base game. (my wife not so much as she's not won a game yet although she got very close until I managed to get all three victory conditions in one turn and built more wonders than her). I ordered the expansion just yesterday and cant wait to give the new things a try. I think she will appreciate the travelling armies as there will be fewer surprise attacks. Also I like the district mechanism (big Civ6 fan and love the districts they added to that game). This seems to be a lot like the videogames, whereby at least one expansion is needed to bring the game to its full potential. Just waiting for religion to come in the second expansion :D

Fortified place is a city when conquered. Why do you never trade with these cities fortified? The caravans have never stopped to a fortified place conquered by an other player.

Oh so during barbarians activation you roll one die and ALL barbarians go that way? I thought you rolled once for each individual barb XD

yup that's right. and if they were to go off the edge of the map they 'bounce back' instead meaning they go in the opposite direction. and they 'jump' over water. I feel sorry for the orange player as he got very unlucky with barbs during this game....but still won haha

@@craftsmenMC well I don't think it's a major game breaking change. They still got to move one way or another. In fact it's probably a nice optional rule change. Makes the game a little bit longer I guess but nothing major. I bet the designers even thought about that when creating the game. There are still a lot of rules in the base game that are a bit confusing. I've often had to go online to seek clarification. I hope the rule book for the expansion keeps all the same things in the same place as im pretty sure barbarians rules are In about 3 or 4 different places in the original rule book!

Look, I'm all for wearing a mask in public settings, but this was three people spending two hours together around a table. The masks did absolutely nothing after fifteen minutes.
