In this video we took on the challenge of Terraria Master Mode with ONLY pickaxes. This was an incredibly hard challenge that tested my Terraria knowledge and skills to their limits. Pickaxes are normally used for digging, but I use them as a weapon against my enemies. Can I beat the Wall of Flesh and eventually the Moon Lord with only tools designed to chip stone and dig dirt?

For EOL, you could have just used a celestial night pylion thingy (when right clicked, it skips to the next night). This would skip over the day tike all together. However, with every failed attempt doing that, you will have to wait a week in game time.

Guys, I know that a fishing rod isn't a pickaxe. But this challenge would've been IMPOSSIBLE without one. I either smash the alters with a hammer, or fish for ores. I could not have beaten the mech bosses without the hardmode ores. Also, the reason I didn't allow the shield of cthulhu but allowed the bone glove and helm, and the stinger necklace, was because the shield says it does 30 melee damage in the tooltip, while those accessories don't, they do classless damage. I just needed a little extra damage to beat the WoF.

Line breaking is genuinely, without a single hint of exaggeration, the single most infuriating mechanic in all of Terraria. Fishing would actually be worthwhile if that one fffucking mechanic was removed outright.

You should do an only enemy drops run. Im doing one right now and its painful, especially since im not letting myself craft weapons, armor, or accessories with the enemy drops.

CJ Deathbot is such a damn inspiration to me. I'm doing hardcore master attempts and I keep getting bad luck and dying, I wouldn't still be attempting without Terraria KZbinrs like CJ. Shit like this inspired me to keep going nad my current attempt is my furthest attempt yet, having killed one mech. It isnt much but I'm proud. Keep it up CJ.

Random question, I know you didn’t use the shield of Cthulhu since it does damage. Using that same logic wouldn’t the bone glove and the deerclops claw thing be off limits too? It's mostly just that the shield is melee and the bone glove and helm are classless damage. It's also that I needed that little extra damage to be able to progress so I allowed it

There is a challenge I've been working through recently that i think would be fun to see. Beating terraria 3ds edition as a summoner. Terraria 3ds is already challenging in itself (unless you use the cupid arrows) but its really fun trying to beat it as a summoner. I would love to see you try it and love watching your content.

I was going to commend you for taking the challenge seriously and counting "swing an axe" as a failure state, but you allowed a fallen star to deal damage to the Eye of Cthulhu, thus ruining the purity of the run. 😛 Seriously though, very pleased someone actually tried this idea. People often overlook the fact tools are technically weapons, so it's neat seeing someone trying a tool-only run.

When you were swapping to the Frost armor briefly for the DoT, it probably would have been easier to put the armor on a second loadout and tap F2 -> hit boss to apply DoT -> tap F1 to swap back to the main loadout. Next challenge maybe. 🤔

volcano traps work wonders for invasion enemies it would be good to make a small one just to have them walk to their death. another tip you can make the EoL go back to her night state if you use a moon dial just as it turns to day time you have to survive till night comes again and you will have a 2nd night's worth of time this works on other bosses but you need to keep them on the screen to keep them from despawning
