@Ravaun1 Yes it is, from the perspective of a daily driver of a Fold 4, you can't help noticing the imrovoement to the overall in hand feel of the fold 6. CJ makes a great point with the observation that this model is a perfection of the previous folds, it truly is. Where CJ is off, this is not a perfection of this form factor. This is a perfection of the hinge, overall thinness, and hopefully the durability of the foldable display. These improvements will apply to all foldable designs Samsung makes in the future.

There will be less reason for people to buy the Ultra. It's the same thing that happened with the Note. It just got turned into the Galaxy S Ultra.

Both Samsung and Apple are slowing their innovation so they won't have to compete with themselves. Both companies do not compare to anything that's in China or with Oneplus. They have really fallen behind on charging speeds, camera processing, battery life, and quality of their screens and of course price!

My husband who I love like crazy just got me the Galaxy Fold 6 so I'm watching your review to prepare me for my first experience with the Fold 6 coming from only having the very first Samsung Fold. But back to the cameras, I'm currently using an iphone-only by force from my husband trying to get me on the apple team lol but it will never happen lol. Anyway while using the iphone, I knew something was off with my skin tone and family's skin tones being captured by the camera, but I literally thought it was the way I was taking our pics. So I would always have to go back to the pic and edit it to get my true skin tone or family's member's skin tones to shine through . But after your review, I finally learned that it wasn't me but the phone cameras. I would love to just take a pic with a google camera just to see my true brown skin come through without editing the pic since you said Google gets that issue right. So yeah that is not cool that Samsung and other companies drop the ball in that area. Thanks for your honest review, you're awesome!

You say innovation? But does that stop iPhone sales? No! You have to admit, when you hold the ZF5 versus the ZF6, you can definitely tell the difference. Major? No! But there is a huge difference compared to the ZF4 versus the ZF5. The hinge is the best they have ever made; it's snappy and quiet. As for the crease, it's significantly better. The only thing I agree with is that they could have installed a bigger battery.

Moved from a Note 20 Ultra. Honestly, I am enjoying the form factor of the Z Fold 6. I actually like the outer screen size. I am frequently using it for texting back and forth and for less in depth email responses. I did have to slightly adjust the size of the keyboard since my case interfered with the keys furthest to the left slightly. Now I have them adjusted perfectly for me and my one handed use. I think the battery thing is a case of each person's experience and use case. I am not huge on mobile gaming, and I moved over from a 4 year old phone, so the battery is doing great for me. With my use, I can take the ZF6 off the charger around 7 AM and be sitting in the range of 60% at 9 PM (sometimes closer to 50, sometimes closer to 70). With my Note, I would be lucky to be at 30% in that same window. Had I been coming from a S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, or Z Fold 5 I am sure I would not be impressed. As for the camera, I have now had a few weeks with it and come to the conclusion that it is, in fact limited. I am definitely not a professional photographer and think in many scenarios it can hold it's own, but the thing is that it is moreso a competitor if you aren't starting to get too deep in the zoomed shots. So far, I don't think it takes it's best shots when you get too far beyond it's native 3x zoom. It seems it can get with anybody at 3x or lower. I don't know how much they can do with a software update but I am curious. Overall, buying this phone really requires someone to choose what they prioritize in the experience. As noted about the camera, there are areas that I don't think it's the top option or even in the top 5, but as a total package, I think it might be the best phone overall that I have ever owned. Maybe my opinion changes in a few months, but right now that is where I am at.

I've been a loyal fan of the Samsung Z Fold series since day one, but honestly, after the Z Fold 4, I feel like they've totally dropped the ball. For the price they're charging, they should at least upgrade the cameras. I mean, my old S21 Ultra takes better photos than the Z Fold 5 I have right now. It's a joke. So, yeah, no way I'm upgrading to the Z Fold 6. It's just the same old stuff with some minor tweaks and more AI. Not worth it, man.

This could be total BS… but my understanding is that the Fold6’s crease is because of the hinge they need to use to maintain IP48 water resistance. Phone’s like the OnePlus open have a lesser crease but also don’t protect against water like the Fold6 does.

My skin is darker than you and agree with the picture quality. However I am really enjoying the size and feel of the Fold so far. The experience has been great so far but agree with all the comments you are making. First case was the useless samung case for 100 dollars..got a s pen from it i guess. Second was the tongate mech. Great coverage but bulky and plastic. Uncomfortable to hold. Finally, I found my go-to. The Spigen tough armor pro. It's grippy, has s pen storage, and not bulky! Try it out folks

Upgrading from a 14 PM to this mainly for gaming via GeForce now and a controller plus it’s the only one that’ll support an S Pen, which I think all of them should. I get that the new pixel fold is larger but that tensor G4 turns me off. That SD gen 3 is still pretty beefy and much faster than the Tensor

People complaining about the crease need to fold a tshirt in half and recognise thst its completely unavoidable. The fact that they created an inner screen that can fold with a barely visible crease is phenomenal. To me it is something that I actually enjoy, its a feature, not a bug. 😅

Thank you for reviewing it based on it's merits, rather than rating Samsung on their upgrade efforts from the previous year. So many reviewers get caught in this trap. They review the company and their innovation rather than just the device in question. "Yeah this device is cutting edge technology, the best on the market, buuuuuuuuut they didn't give me enough new features from last year. It doesn't feel as good as I think it should feel, and they just didn't innovate enough for my feelings, based on an arbitrary measurement of 365 days, so I'm only giving it a 6/10." Said it before and I'll say it again: They shouldn't get rid of the design they have now, but they DO need to bring us an ULTRA Fold to go along with the design we have now. Ultra should have bigger battery, BEST cameras, taller AND wider front display for an 8" inner display, and the price tag we have now. The base fold needs a price reduction. Spen support on the cover display and an s Pen silo is a MUST for both or they will kill the design I love the fold FOR.

I actually think charging speed is fine atleast it was on the Fold 5. I was using a 30w charging cable I got off Amazon, and my phone charged up quick ASF. However, I definitely can't say the same for wireless charging.

Totally understand where you are coming from. Two things you might want to consider. First, the Z Fold is really for "power users". It excels for those who want a real computer in the palm of their hand. If someone only uses their mobile device for phone calls, texts and some social media messaging, they don't need and shouldn't waste their money on the Z Fold. Second, Samsung really treats its Fold owners well. Once you buy one, they give you huge discounts on upgrading. This means that for about $650 every second year you can have a new model. The trade in value given on these Folds is ridiculously high.

The guy at Samsung told me, if you have a Note, and you buy a Fold 6, you will feel the urge to always open the phone cause the main screen is really narrow. IF you want the best, get the 24 ultra. The fold 6 in 2 or 3 years, you will get that screen all messed up.
