I actually agree. If anything alliances were not that bedrock even in the mid 11th century. They frequently shifted depending on the situation. I would prefer that kind of system.

@@Andrewza1 Its not about that, usually wars are super expensive and almost no one would wage wars like that without any substantial profit. Especially since you can just get betrothed to a 6yo girl, call her father to your war, and then break the betrothal.

@@ivartheboneless5969 Yes that breaking betrothals happened sometimes, but using the entire France's army to conquer Africa for yourself is kinda broken lol. Most often these were defensive pacts, and even if they attacked together they both would get something out of it. As of now there is basically no profit to conquering an entire Kingdom for a random dude. Fame? Pfft romancing 4 wives of Persian emperor will net you 6000 prestige.

And I thought my character was successful when she inherited France from her brother and used that as a launchpad to create the empire of Francia🤯. (She was the empress of Italia. The only reason she didn't inherit France from her father was because I forgot to convert him from catholicism before he inherited France. I was able to convert my brother before he kicked it though.)

I quickly checked your channel this morning for an achievement guide, followed your other ones and then went and did this achievement myself (via a difficult route) - it's a tough one! I ended up using the abduct cheese (even on 1.0.1) and firing the event as I declared war on the King. The only trouble is I managed to make Herbert become disgraced when trying to take the neighbouring counties so I had to wait a few years for the prestige before declaring war, all whilst watching Herbert age and making sure no other Karlings were married. Nightmare. Managed to finally achieve it though.

I've also done the 867 start with Lothar but can never quite get the Empire of Germania before he dies. All I want is a German Empire without elective succession.

Once you become an empress you can steamroll most areas the grind is culture conversion, so you need great stewards

I'm currently doing a world conquest. I'm in 1200 have 3k living family members and own 2/3 of the map. My i7 6700k @4.5GHz has massive performance problems. Can you tell me if that would be also the case with GeForce NOW?

Hendrik Lippka world conquests will sadly always, just in general, lead to performance drops since the game struggles with realms of that size. It's sadly somewhat unavoidable! You can still check out the free tier of GeForce Now and check out whether that might help after all!

Requirements according to CK3 wiki: Adult At peace Own the Empire of Francia title Realm capital is in the region of Western Europe The Holy Roman Empire title is owned by another character Control the western half of Europe French culture Christian religion Level of Fame is at least Illustrious I don't think all is lost. It is a bit unclear under which circumstances the decision is shown ingame. But at the very least, in case all the above conditions are fulfilled, the decision must show up again. Good luck with that decision, it's really a nasty one especially in ironman, as you need to avoid being elected HRE emperor ...

Ck3 is so weird sometimes. I started in 867 as the count, soon yo be duke of Augsburg. First west francia takes Italy than Lotharingia. East francia becomes burgundy than frisa. Frisa destroys the east francia title so now everyone is independent. West francia did the same with Italy. So western Europe has west francia, Aquitaine, Lotharingia, and my kingdom of the Bavarians all competing while counts tremble and wait to be conquered
