My husband retires next week and although he has several private pension pots it’s still not going to be anywhere near his salary. We’ve been lucky that we have had the financial ability to live well but one thing we did not do so well at is savings . So to anyone that is years off retirement age start saving for it now , we still have adult kids living at home so we’ve not been able to downsize and use the equity that we have in this house as savings . I wish someone when we were younger had told us to prepare for the future . X

We are in the same boat, we have fairly decent pensions the house is paid for but we don’t have huge savings sitting in the bank, because we have grown up children who have children of their own so we are supporting/helping them, which is what parents usually do, the saying a dog isn’t just for Christmas should be, your kids will always be your kids and you will always be there for them.

Glad you're happy and motivated with your goals. My main goal is to cut out as much processed food as I can. I'm also getting married next year! So glad you're back posting videos again aswell 😊

Good for you Claire you do change and grow as you get older sounds like you know where your going which is a good priorities change like stuff you don't need or want anymore and as your children get older everything starts to shift if you like I'm sure it will all fall into place for you working towards it good luck enjoyed this chat 😊❤❤

I love listening to goal achievements. The best pod casts I’ve listened too are begin again with Devina McCall and ceo with Stephen Bartlett. Would love to know others. In relation to money investments and pensions. I did a 10 week finance course with rebel finance on you tube for free. I think the course notes / vids are up till new year! But it’s an eye opening and goes through all finance levels. Wish I knew the info in my 20’s too! Be good if you went into more details of what you have found out. And excersize too! I remember you always getting up so early! I can’t do that i know I love my sleep! So I’ve stopped the gym and go on more walks, and lifting lighter. I may go back to gym but I need to take a break and work out what I enjoy now as I’m older and starting to get premenopausal 😊

I think you meant not wanting your cortisol levels to be too high, being high is not good for your health. Was watching this, eating a cake I made yesterday 😂 I need to eat more healthily , I have such a sweet tooth and with not exercising, apart from walking (due to needing a major gynae op) I do need to keep an eye on what I eat more. I have very high cortisol levels, don’t sleep well , am stressed , going through the menopause and have borderline high blood pressure , not yet on medication but being kept an eye on x

@Andreaod73 yes high cortisol is definitely not great, and small changes can help massively 🙌 I suppose a lot of the symptoms go hand in hand so it’s hard to know what exactly it is xx

@@clairelou09011988exactly it’s hard with all my menopause symptoms too, put on some weight (not loads since before menopause) but your body does change shape, hard with hormones etc , all interconnected x

Such an interesting video Claire, thankyou. Regarding exercise, that's interesting that you are now doing free weights any home just doing more walking. I've just cancelled my gym membership and brought myself some free weights, need to do more strength training in my 50s and increasing walking everyday. Much more natural way of exercise and soothing mentally. Hope you and the family have a wonderful Christmas and all the best to you all in 2025 🎉x
