Nothing sounds like a Ford FE 427 TP at 8000, I remember them I the old days. They were still kicking HemI and Boss9 butt back then because they would outlive them. Built Ford tough! The FE in Grand National and NASCAR 1960-1970

Great to see some real old school stock cars, from back when a car was bought in a dealership, "built," and raced! I was at the 1967 FIRECRACKER 400 in Daytona, and still have a picture that I took through the driver's side window of Wendell Scott's '65 Ford, which was running a stock steering wheel, wrapped with electrical tape! ALSO... there's just nothing on this planet that sounds like a 427 C.I. American stock car V-8 engine! Many thanks! 🔥🔥🔥

That Trickle car is fantastic! Great video! The sounds were the best! When I saw you driving the 8 car onto the track I said to my self, "Oh boy, the hook is set!" Dick Trickle is one of my all time hero's. One of the last of the independents. I got to meet him at Loudon NH back in the late 90's. We were racing in the bush series and the Cup race was the same weekend. Dick came driving in an old borrowed tractor trailer with one of those orange Schneider shipping trailers hauling his race car. He jumped out of the cab with a tee shirt and a pack of smokes rolled up in the sleeve, and jeans and cowboy boots. He had everything he needed to race including his car loaded into that trailer. He used metal ramps and oak planks to get the car unloaded. He saw us watching and said, "Hey! can you give me a hand unloading?" He was all by himself. I don't even know if he had a crew coming later or not. I had always liked him, but that was when he became a hero to me.

I'm so happy to see you making these historical stock car videos. My dad worked with Kenny Thompson at Hendrick motorsports #5 Levi Garrett car back in the late eighties. I would hang around the shop, wash cars and sweep floors. Kenny Thompson is one of the best fabricators I ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is perfect for his own video on this channel. Just to let you know how good this man was...he was a salary employee and Hendrick still paid him to build custom racing oil pans per oil pan.

Enjoyed it! Y'all got some cool content, esp for us that remember the old NASCAR! I remember sitting on my grannys porch in Bullocks Hollow, watching the car haulers (which was usually car trailers or make shift rollbacks) coming back after the Bristol race, headed back to N.C., usually beat all to pieces, and a lot of them was being driven by the drivers! Early 60's. Good old days...

Firecracker 400 in July religiously for twenty plus years. Marty Robbins/Cotton Owens car reminded me of being at Tally watching the Winston when he switched out the carb and blew everyone away. Cheered for all guys chasing the dream while working their other ob just so they could race on Sunday. By the way nice murdered out Monte Carlo. Would love to see more of that ride.

The Trickle car should most likely be purple, as his Torino and 69/70 Mustangs were purple. But overall, awesome resto on the car. Trickle was friends of the family back in the day, and we watched him race against Shear, Refner, etc during the Midwest golden era in Wi. Our buddy Les and his dad built almost all of Trickle’s FE 427’s out of their shop in Vesper, WI

@@kurtmillard5904 I always wondered that myself. According to another You Tube video, I believe it was titled "The 10 Best Nascar Drivers Who Never Won a Race," Trickle didn't go South permanently earlier because he was making so much money racing the short tracks he didn't feel the need to. Knowing Trickle's career, I can certainly believe it. BTW, the fellow who did the video ranked Trickle #2, behind Cecil Gordon.

Many years ago, a good friend built a tribute car of the great David Pearson's #17 1969 Ford,I think it was. This was so many years ago it's hard for me to remember specifics. It was blue & gold,#17. He had a 427/4speed in it. Had all the same decals on it,including the Holmon Moody Competition Proven decals on the hood. He took some pictures of it & sent them to David & asked him if he would autograph a couple & he could keep 1 or 2 if he wanted them. He sent 2 back, autographed. This was back in the 80's. Never went anywhere racing, but sure had a blast. Wish I could of found the cars I raced in the 70's and 80's....from a 62 Mercury 390, to a 71 Pontiac LeMans back then to some real nice pieces through the 90's and the 2000's. Finally stopped in '04. What great time. Think about it every day....

Hey guys get settled i cannot speak for everyone but make it right take the time. I am in Canada so forget having a race car and doing laps around on a track but i would sell both my Harleys and buy a stock car without a doubt. Im just thrilled to see what will happen with the Rolls. When you guys get settled il get a hoodie. Thanks man keep it up you 2

Would love to have been there. The two NASCAR races I went to were both at Rockingham in the mid 80's. I actually got to ride in one of Richard Petty's ride along cars at Daytona the year before we lost Dale Earnhardt. Glad to see these old cars are being cared for and driven!

Those cars. That was when Nascar was NASCAR! The era of when that actually used real cars in the track to promote their street counterparts! American muscle!

Thank you so much for the video. These old race cars are a driving dream to me. I wish someday I could own one of these. I don't care if it's street leagal. To be honest I prefer if it isn't street leagal! This pure V8 sound is awesome and music in my ears 😍

You showed great control behind the wheel of the "Clean Shower" car! Don't think I could of been so controlled! I would have romped it through the gears a couple of times! It would have been so hard not to send it!

Dude how stoked would your 8 year old self be right now?! Like I'm all jazzed up for you, driving a race car around a race track and filming and being around this all the time. I bet he would be proud.
