For me it was Bleach I got into later. I saw One Piece and Naruto right from the beginning and only learned about Bleach years later. Still, I find all three of them enjoyable and I find that each of them has had an impact on me as a person along with some other anime, manga and shows I have seen over the years. Some more than others to be fair, but that is part of life.

I first started with all of this series with the American WSJ. Then saw some of it on American TV but when I got really into it was with fansubs. Naruto I binged watched it when a friend gave me his hard drive which had all the Naruto released at that point back during the Filler Arc at the end of the original series. Bleach and One Piece I think I just saw it online from fansubs. Back then it took forever to download said fansubs but it was so worth it. I later started reading the Manga of those series Online going to old message boards with the fan scanlations. This was way before the aggregators of today and services which makes it so easy to read Manga today.

@timdoe8895 The anime is a slog but the actual Manga goes at a brisk pace. And Oda does actually have it mostly planned out, as opposed to Naruto/Kishimoto who ran out of ideas for the story halfway through shippuden lol. There's a reason why it's only gotten more and more popular with time. One pieces arcs all start and wrap up before you ever get sick of them. It simply has an immense amount of content because Oda is the goat at drawing and writing consistently good Shonen.
@OmegaGamer19895 ай бұрын
What's funny is One piece wasn't even PART of the big 3 originally. For *years* it was DBZ Naruto and Bleach. One piece was around but hadn't really blown up yet. It wasn't until DBZ finished airing the Buu saga in the West and was considered "over" that One piece ever entered the conversation of "the big 3."
@NeutralGuyDoubleZero5 ай бұрын
@OmegaGamer1989 DBZ was never part of the big 3. It was airing end of the frieza saga in America years before Bleach or Naruto started gaining traction. DBZ was the grandpa that lead to the big 3 becoming a thing.
@WieldMyWord4 ай бұрын
@@NeutralGuyDoubleZero True but if we were technically about it neither should one piece be in the "big 3" since the manga started in 1997 and not in the early 2000s which would be considered the "big 3 era", some proposed its Naruto, Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist that are the big 3 since One piece only got big later on in 2010 and onward when westerners got in to the anime. Ofcourse what we mean by "big 3" is the most profitable shonen shows in the early 2000s to late 2000s (manga, merchs). " Manga goes at a brisk pace. And Oda does actually have it mostly planned out" I have to disagree, ofcourse its better paced than the anime because it doesn't have fillers but the manga can be very dry at certain points like gags being repeated, flashbacks and even just exposition and outdated shonen story tropes, etc. Oda doesn't have most stuff planned out, he has even stated in several interviews in how the worst generation was not planned (that means basically everything about those characters and story threads weren't planned), the manga was supposed to end within a decade or so, Sabo was not planned, Gear 6 was not planned since he said in an interview; "he had no idea how Luffy was going to beat Kaido but its not going to be a fist this time" which it did, the only difference is that he had power up coming out of nowhere which was not planned given past events, etc. "There's a reason why it's only gotten more and more popular with time." Its only got more known because of "marketing"/timing (one piece live action, games, merchandise, etc) and content creators on youtube living off talking about it since it never ends making it a career path on youtube. Also the manga sales has shown that One piece has dropped in sales over the last couple of years so technically people are getting fed up with it (demon slayer, JJK sells more). "One pieces arcs all start and wrap up before you ever get sick of them. It simply has an immense amount of content because Oda is the goat at drawing and writing consistently good" This is also false, one piece have been so uninteresting outside of the community cult, the story is bland and super generic and takes zero risk anymore after Ace died, etc. Not only that but Oda drawing skills is so weak compared to what it used to be 500 chapters ago, you can barely ready the panels because there are so much scribbling lines and messy background. Also Due to Nika/joyboy and onward it has created so many plot holes and issue with the story due to Oda retconning the whole show to something we never wanted or making sense. I would probably say the whole Joyboy thing and now with Bonny mimicking gear 5 out of nowhere worse than the black Zetsu stab in Naruto, I am sorry but one piece is going downhill and its probably because Oda has no idea where he wants it to end, and he is tired. The show has so many loose threads all over the places and when he introduce stuff its often the reason of "style over substance".
