Get all the FrR gear you need right now and then SUPPLEMENT IT with better items from Naxx/crafting. Thanks for the guide holder! Another worse option for helm is the Fervent Helm that drops of Zevrim in DM e (Zevrim can be solo'd easily and helm can roll +14 FR)

tbh 90 frost res might not be enough. But I guess it's all on how much your guild will let you get away with. From what I hear You should get in Nax with 130-150, and then you can get some extra there.

hmmm, at least on the pservers we used to run healers with 130 FrR unbuffed ( as you know, pservers were a little more difficult than classic ) the best way to get 130 FrR is the crafted tailor items you can learn in Naxx @ revered ( for all pieces afaik ) if you switch it to phase 6 you'll see the stuff available effective immediately once naxx opens. basically all you need is the crafted Glacial Gloves, Legs, Chest, + the naxx quest for FrR ring, that gets you to 130 unbuffed. otherwise you sacrifice too much healing, luckily the glacial pieces have some + dmg & healing stats. if you still need more, you can use T2 helm and glacial cloak. Melee / caster on the other hand would run a little higher in FrR , i don't recall by how much but luckily bosses drop a lot of FrR stuff + leather workers can craft leather / mail FrR stuff from naxx

Yeah that craftable gear still requires the runes from inside naxx and there's definitely not enough from one clear to get people any amount serviceable FrR. Also on the PTR people are noticing that the Frost Aura is ticking every second instead of every other second so essentially this is the one boss that might be harder on classic than it was on private servers.

@@Holderhek truuuuuuue, although rogues can farm runes solo and each time you loot the runes off the walls you can get up to 6 runes sometimes. so you can potentially get 52 frozen runes I think per naxx clear if you get 4 runes per thing. also, the solo farm has to be done on an alt rogue because looting the runes will save you to the instance.

Justin McCarthy As long as you don’t kill any bosses you won’t be saved to an instance. You can keep clearing trash to get the word of thawing, getting the frozen runes, and resetting.

@@justinmccarthy832 Fair warning: I didn't play vanilla, let alone vanilla naxx. Looting the runes could very well save you, but I don't know if that's going to be how it works in classic.

mages need 15 less resist due to mage armor, and i recommend using gyro-freeze ice reflector so you dont loose the hit from your rings early on as a caster dps
