Documentary about topmodel Doutzen Kroes. Made by Omrop Fryslân. Halbe Piter Claus follows Doutzen when she is working in Milaan during the Fashion Week. English subtitle!

First time, I see a model being so real and down to earth. I really admire her courage and objectivity. "It's not fair, because I was born this way". She recognizes that she got an extra advantage that made it easy for her to gain profit - her beauty - but that's not fair for those who are not born with "the look" the world goes crazy after. She is not full of herself, you can tell by the way she says that she donates to charity to balance things out in her mind. She's a cool woman!

Intonation and expression are also cultural apart from individual, and I find her not sulky and moody at all but more reflective and contemplative. She does not deny the duality either of wanting more money and experiencing more new things and not being able to say the same 'simple girl' she was and wanting to contribute to the world at the same time. Not many would share that in honesty. Calling her an immature ungrateful girl says perhaps more about your perception and own cultural lens.

Strangely enough, the subtitles make it seem that way. I can't really explain it, but if you were able to speak Dutch (Frisian), you wouldn't think the same way, honestly trust me. When i read the subtitles i think it sounds just slightly stuck-up too, although i admire her honesty, cause she really does care about the world, you know (see the videos where she does charity). But if you were able to speak and understand the language (like me) it doesn't sound so stuck-up at all.

much better than most of the models - most of them would not be this honest and she clearly is quite intelligent. I remember picking up one of my sisters magazines and seeing a article about how she got her "post baby body back" and unlike all the other models before she mentionedany special "tricks" she said that it was important to realize that it was unrealistic for people to expect normal women to be in similar shape to her. + she mentions that she has trainers and lucky body genetics.

modeling is really about self exploration.. just like she said, it can be lonely because you have to go to all the places and jobs alone.. i think you learn a lot about yourself.. so much inner growth involved by working as a model.. she's beautiful inside and out, very professional and a very experienced model.. i think modeling is much more difficult than what we expect..

wow i wish more models were like this. she seems so intellectual. 'all this money when there's so much poverty in the world' i think this applies to everyone. everyones always trying to be the richest,and better themselves. all we want is money money money, push push push. doing whatever it takes.why are there people who have billions of money, when there are people everywhere with not one dollar? thats so wrong. i love doutzen, i wish more people were like her.

She is just a simple girl who is beautiful and raised by a poor family and also she is lucky because she's beautiful and hot. And because of that she makes lot of money but if she hadnt send those pictures she might have become a teacher like she planned and makes money as much as one of us the people. So you never know. You might become a very rich person too maybe even this comment will change your life. Life is full of supprises.

yeah i loved an interview where she said that becoming a model was never her aim and that she is very genetically lucky - i think thats something that is lacking among the younger generation and many other models - e.g. kendall jenner who says its her dream job to work as a VS angel.

So this was filmed when she was 21? Wow! She was so wise to the world. Even now, she's heavily involved with charity work. I don't think it's fair to say she's ungrateful, etc. I think WE don't know how she lives, so why should we judge her for showing an ounce of decency towards those who don't have a fraction of what she's got, and achieved ALL BY HERSELF. Envy is a sin, remember that.

Almost all clothes from so called high fashon houses are designed to be worn by thin models. They're designed to look good on them. There's no market for full-figured haute couture. This is no trend but rather an elitist attitude to make tall and thin models stand out more from the not so tall and not so thin masses. And while Doutzen isn't anorexic, she wouldn't get booked if she were 20 lbs heavier.

Yes, I know subtitles are misleading, but it doesnt change her moody sulky tone and expression. Ironically, she went on to Victorias secret, the most commercial, materialistic and self indulgent modelling job she could have chosen. so I guess she was just an immature ungrateful girl. I believe she is happier now, and must be loving rolling in all that money.

Why do i feel watching this that the miserable girl feels she is a victim trapped in all of that? So disinterested and unenthusiastic about it all!! What a pain...just go work on a shop if its all too guilt producing and tiring and unhealthy. Bad attitude.

Honestly, I do not love when Doutzen says that to cope with stress, she needs to break in luxury, eating expensive food and even satiated. I do not know what I'd give to be able to live like her, instead do a stressful job and alienating and I can not afford a pizza at the restaurant every now and then. I do not think it is right that it is so presumptuous.

I love what she said..the only thing I have to criticize..I hope nobody ever rejected her for being to fat for the industry,she sounds a little like that when she talks about"the skinnier girls".like...seriously..I have her kind of body shape and I think it is a healthy shape.
