I know this is old but even if you take off the panels and vacuum the fan from there it wont do anything. Grab a T8 or T9 screw, remove the fan and gently place it on top of the ps5 without hurting the wires. Clean the insides thoroughly too because that's the reason it shuts off

Take off the side panels. Clean with a cloth. Get an air compressor and blow air from back of console whilst you put a plastic straw or something in fan area to stop it spinning freely. All dust will fly off the heatsink. A good air compressor like paint sprayer ones will do good as they're powerful

I took mine completely apart. There are KZbin videos on how to do it. You have to snap the covers off than you have to use a t8 screwdriver to take the cooling fan out. That will be very dirty. Also use a brush to clean the coils and spray with duster. Re assemble dust free. She is running like new

This... Is not how you clean any sort of game system... Get your screwdriver, dust off and some Q-tips. Don't let you're fan move while you clean it. And always, be gentle and put everything back exactly how it was. Good thing you keep you're system in a open space so it can breathe properly. But if you *ever* vacuum your house, perhaps consider covering it with a towel so the dust that comes up from the floor doesn't sit on your system. I've rebuilt on my PS4, and deep clean it regularly. I make it a annual monthly habit to make sure it's clean so everything runs properly. Especially since I have animals. So. Just a friendly comment. No hate.

That does too little. Turn it off properly, then unplug the power, and pull the covers off and take the fan out as well. This is the way to clean it correctly. Find videos for the basic cleaning if unsure. Don't use compressed air/canned air though. Vacuum only is far safer to the internal components
