I don’t even disassemble my tree anymore I just take the whole thing after taking the ornaments off and put it in the corner of a closet! If you have the space it’s just so much easier and makes every December easy to put the tree out
@henriettelinkshanderin144912 күн бұрын
You could even leave the ornaments on the tree.

Thank you for this. Great tips. I love that you also said aluminium the British way, as we say it very different than people in the US & Canada. I’ve always hated doing my tree so I now wrap it in a large black rubbish bag & put it in a cupboard under the stairs, complete with lights, decorations & tinsel on. The only things I have to do when I bring it out the next year is to put the fairy on the top & the tree skirt around the tree. With lights, I wrap them around a plastic coat hanger. Kathryn from Do It On A Dime suggested this & it really does work.

Thank you, Melissa, once again for your wisdom, encouragement, and inspiration during this crazy season. I'm in the New York area and, boy...do I need your help during this time of year! ;) What a gift you are to us all. ❤☃❄

My outdoor lights came on a spool, so its one of the few things that's easy to store. My ornaments are another story. As for cookies and candy (such as my mother's fudge), I use old cookie tins and popcorn tins. They are usually a holiday theme and hold LOTS of cookies. My recipes are many years old and they make dozens at a time, so I really need the storage. But, I see your cooky carrier as useful for cookie cutters, as mentioned before, but also craft supplies, such as paper. This is one video worth saving with all your other holiday supplies!

To Me: Celebrating the Christmas holiday is all about extra time with my family and friends. Getting together for a big meal, sitting around catching up on everything going on in life, perhaps singing some carols around the piano 🎶🎵, and simply taking the time to count our blessings. A Tip I've found to be helpful is to fully decorate the house (inside & out) as early as Thanksgiving. This way, the environment or mood is already set to enjoy some special baking, or ready to host company that may pop in unexpected. ❤ My family and friends know that my door is always open & a pot of coffee is always on standby with the touch of a button. After losing some precious members of the family thru the 2020 covid epidemic, I'll never take my loved ones' company for granted again! ❤ 🎅🎄

You can also cut up cardboard boxes and wrap lights around those. Much cheaper than buying something that does the same thing. I used to do that. Now I put them back in the boxes they came in.

Did you say "festivus" person? I want to bring out my pole now 😂 I'm from a muslim family in Bangladesh who is really into home decoration! Every year I miss not celebrating Christmas solely for the decorating aspect. Uff, I can tell my home would be the envy of the neighbourhood 😂...oh well, just the pole will do for now. 😂 Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all! ❤

I use a piece of cardboard to wrap my lights, cut a notch to hold the end and push the plug tru to keep that secure. Magazines are also a good option, pop the plug in the middle, roll it into a baton and wrap the wire. Makes putting them out again super easy too.

Even though we don't decorate much now, we got ALL the Christmas bins out of the attic. It's currently a Christmas Island in my kitchen and I refuse to put it all back in storage. So I'm going through a bin and being really picky about decluttering!

Some of my neighbors hang their wreaths, one for each season in their garage until they need it for their door. Personally I wrap everything in paper/plastic to protect each item from dirt/dust. Then organize items in tubs, except the holiday wreath and two seasonal door mats. The wreath and mats don't fit in tubs so I place them on top. Does anyone else hang their wreaths in the garage?

@@universaltruth2025the best part is they're both right. In reality, rhe differences in the language come mostly from the fact that the brits changed things after the colonists left. And the brits have been screaming about it ever since.

Please don't buy these aluminium single use containers. Just do a quick research on the problems of the aluminium production, the dangers to the planet and you will no longer buy aluminium single use stuff ever again! Other options: 1. Ask your guests to bring their own tupperware. And if they don't, they won't get any leftovers. 2. Give them tupperware as a present. 3. Declutter your tupperware and use those you don't want to keep for your guests. 4. Collect single use containers from things like potato salad or yoghurt and use these.

You need to be careful while wearing rings and doing housework. You can damage the prongs. I had my entire diamond fall off. Thank goodness, I found it.
