I've never romanced Shart, but yea the reason Tav isnt cleric often is Shadowheart is your first permanent companion you literally get on the beach, and she's already a cleric. Lol

yeah my first Bg3 and DnD character was a war cleric. As a martial/caster hybrid I think its better than Eldritch Knight. But most people just add War cleric on top of fighter for an extra attack and Command/Bless. also a good approach.

You got to level 12 in your game? Pay 100 gold to withers and you can do it yourself instead of begging for it on KZbin. I'm sure there's a guide somewhere available if you google it. There's probably other guides on KZbin too.

@@bamsannen Well first thing is first. Shadowheart retains some memories, she just had selective parts hidden from her for her mission. Knowledge: facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject Memory: Memory is the ability to store, encode, and retrieve information over time Them both like parts in a computer. Knowledge is your harddrive which stores all the information you've accumulated while using your PC. Memory would be your RAM (Random access memory). the part of your computer that takes the knowledge thats been stored on the harddrive and sends it to your CPU to process that information (knowledge) This is why in the IT industry storage and memory are two completely separate things with two completely different functions. And plenty of times. have you ever heard "its on the tip of my tongue" or have you ever had someone ask you a question and you cant think of the answer right away but hours later the answer pops into your head. The knowledge is there and we know its there because you do eventually recite it or know the right answer without doing any supplementary research before you remembered the answer. its just your memory was unable to pull that information at the exact time you want it to Also if you want a simpler answer that what i provided google "memory synonym" and knowledge will not be on that list or vice versa google "knowledge sysnonym" and memory wont be on that list either Next time you think that you are smart, take a step back, pause...... and REMEMBER that you aren't. We both have the knowledge that you are dumb. I'll remember that, hopefully you will too.

​@@bamsannen I am certain How can you recite anything at all if you didn't gain the knowledge of it in the first place? Your memory cant remember knowledge that you haven't gained. You didn't come out the womb knowing how to spell words. You gained the knowledge and trained yourself for years to remember the knowledge you've gained to spell many words, understand what they mean, and construct concise thoughts and put them into words.

Knowledge is a domain of Selune in the lore. It even used to be a Shar domain in earlier editions so its a great choice for SH lorewise/for an orgin playthrough

1 Storm Sorceror / 11 Knowledge Domain with Githyanki is how I played this build and it’s pretty insane. If you allocate your skills properly you can basically have proficiency and expertise in everything except STR (who cares) and with 14 Cha you’ll never fail rolls even without illithid cheese. Make no mistake though, this build is not a damage dealer no matter how you slice it.

Its worth saying that expertise in History for a Shadowheart origin run as relevance because she makes history checks for some of her unique memory events so you can get a little more out of her run, especially in act 3, with a history expertise.

Crazy knowledge domain might be the best cleric subclass for Tav since you can get good charisma based proficiencies anyway

I would suggest you include the amulet of greater health as a recommended item for any build that heavily uses radiating orbs and spirit guardians. The amulet is extremely helpful for maintaining concentration for any character that needs to be near enemies. If you prefer amulet of the devout or another amulet, you should recommend steelwatcher’s helmet, which also helps with concentration saves. In fact, given how many of your cleric builds rely on radiating orbs and spirit guardians, I think you need to raise your rating of that helmet from a C to A or S class. Darkness and blind immunity AND advantage on concentration checks. It’s not a C item.

Hi all! Sorry to step here like this, but I am on the hunt for a mod that allows to change the background skills. I would like to do a Wyll run but I really hate being stuck with Survival and AH, two of the most useless skills in the game. I don't mind being Folk Hero for inspirations and so on; and I also don't mind being something else. Everything I have found, either breaks other characters backgrounds (leaves them background-less, like 'Origins Unlocked) or simply allows you to choose among all skills instead of class skills, but still has background skills locked. At this point I maybe either live with it or mod it myself, but if someone can help me, I would really appreciate it. PS. Thank you Ceph for your awesome work, as always!

To improve this as a main character build, make your character a soldier gith and take investigation + the other charisma skills with first level in rogue. After you dump the rest into knowledge domain, selecting the rest of the intelligence skills and using knowledge of ages on wisdom and the gith astral knowledge on dex.

Great to see this! I did a run as a Gith Wizard 1 / Knowledge Cleric 11 (a “Gith Scholar”). Not the most powerful in combat, but there was never a round when he didn’t have something to do. Any chance of a Lore Bard - Wizard Build?

I'm having a ridiculously hard time running SH as anything but Life. I can make that one fit with the established lore: She is mentioned as having been the Sharran strike team's "healer" plus Life doesn't contradict her early game personality as much as, say, Light would. Beyond that, I simply find her so useful as a Life-Cleric, kitted out with both buff-on-heal gear and the Radiant Armor to debuff enemies. I usually strip some of the earlier healing gear off her as the story progresses (Boots of Aid and Comfort, Ring of Salving, Wapira's Crown), but even with just Hellrider's Pride/Reviving Hands plus Whispering Promise she's still a walking field hospital. She also still has enough offensive potential that way, IMO and every time I've re-specced her once she changes hair-color, I've then missed the insane healing potential she has as Life. I do agree however that Life would probably not be my preferred domain for a SH origin-run, either ... but I haven't done any of the origin runs yet, so... :)

You know, I like your builds here for BG3, so i'd love to see you make some for other games. Like Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous or Pillars of eternity 2 Deadfire or Divinity original sin 2, of course, but I'm sure you'd be a great build maker for ARPGs (like grim dawn) or roguelikes (like tales of maj'eyal, Path of Achra, caves of qud...) as well

I really liked this subclass, but I actually feel like the bonus spell list is kind of uninteresting compared to most others. Not bad or anything - it has confusion and slow - but still, I feel like it doesn't really change how you want to do actions as a cleric and it's very niche with some overlap, but I admit I could be undersellingit due to above spells. Same vibe as Life spell list for me, even if I prefer this one a bit more. The features are awesome though in BG3, both in theme and feel, the only 'weakness' is that I feel like you truly have to MC it for it to shine brightest. That said, full agree with the 1 dip suggestions. Pretty much all casters except maybe druid makes for a great dip. Or rogue/ranger to truly be proficient at everything. I'll edit in that reflecting for a moment, probably situational is a better way to say it rather than uninteresting. For me Life spell list is definitely the latter, but I was probably too hard on the Knowledge one.

my mc: halfling so no 1's in ability checks - urchin first level rogue - slight of hands,stealth,investigation,deception,intimidation,performce. cleric knowledge domain 2 - persuasion,religion,arcana,history - 3 wisdom knowledge of the ages - 5 for spirit guardians. that + silvanus statue = proficiency in nature to a total of proficiency in everything (aside of athletics and acrobatics) - (using the knowldge channel divinity for all 5 wisdom skills) + ring of the shapeshifting. 6 levels of paladin ancients auntie ethel charisma 24 charisma overall. so insane saving throws and insane skills. 4th level spell slots for smites. building reverberation build gearwise. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmS8Y36ehZmGhcU&ab_channel=BelfastBiker plain amazing build, passing like 99% of all skill checks in dialogues and explorations through the entire game.

Wouldnt go 1 level in Wizard and 11 into any other Cleric achieve essentialy the same amount of CC that Knowledge domain has tho? I can just learn all the spells knowledge has as a Tempest Cleric and also do a bagillion damage compared to it.

Sure, but that wasn’t his point. The main focus wasn’t about CC or damage, it was showcasing that you can still be a party face while playing a cleric which is very difficult to do. If you want a ton of damage, then this is decidedly not the best way to do it.
